WORST NIGHTFALL EVER

Stage 1: fiancée goes ballistic because she says I play too much. Drama ensues. Thankfully i played this part a good number of times so i was able to get through it - only if just barely. Stage 2: Dinner at the inlaws. Pretty easy, done this like a million times already and know exactly how to cheese it. Don't care if anyone tells me i should play it legit, my fireteam partner wasn't very cooperative anyway. Mic was on but didn't really talk that much. Final stage: having to watch TV while wanting to play to avoid further drama. Not easy at all. Almost succumbed to the darkness (sleep) but managed to get through it. REWARDS: - Increased frustration gains for however long it takes before i can play again; - A piece of cake - NO SEX (WTF Bungie!! Really???) So typical that we bust our asses off and get nothing but crap at the end! BUNGIE PATCH YOUR GAME ALREADY! EDIT: Trending! Didn't really expect it! Glad you enjoyed it :) EDIT 2: 69 likes wink wink :) EDIT 3: Day 2, 200+ likes! Thanks for your comments! Its great to see there are many others with relationship difficulty modifiers when trying to fight the darkness! EDIT 4: Broke the 300 likes barrier! So glad i could give you a chuckle or at least something you can relate to! Thank you guardians, keep'em coming! EDIT 5: Whaaaat?! 440 likes! Can we make it to 500?

      • Lol. Watching tv so you don't cause drama but you are itching so bad to play. Lol! It's almost torture at that point.

      • Glad my girlfriend doesn't want marriage. And she's a gamer herself. So she understands the "addiction". (Still hates it sometimes, understandably...)
Also, she thinks the man should be able to do what he wants. So I got lucky as -blam!-.
• You forgot to add you're a bitch for letting your fiance walk all over you. Grow a pair of balls and do what you want. Are you a man or a woman? Sounds to me like you're a woman.

        • I feel your pain, my other half doesn't like me spending too much time on the PlayStation and Bitches non stop. So now I just learn to offer a film night or take her out one a week, costs a few quid but keeps her happy. A happy Mrs is a happy me. And to all the "hotshots" saying to be the man! And tell her who's boss. I wager you don't....

typical nightfall for me: Wife(W): You waste too much time on video games. You should be hanging out with me in the living room. Me(M): You're watching terrible reality TV, how is that any better use of time? W: I just want you out here for us to spend time together. M: Well how about we spend some time together in here while I play video games? W: I am not gonna sit there and watch you play that stupid game. M: Well I'm not gonna watch lifetime and I think time to ourselves is healthy, so. . . *huffing and puffing from wife* *doors slamming* *icey stare as she walks by* *I relent and go to living room; wife seems satisfied but soon buries head in smart phone, leaving me to watch 27 dresses and make futile attempts at conversation that involve a typical response of: "uh-huh." or "no."* M: Could we watch something else? W: YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT YOURSELF. WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE ON YOUR TERMS?!?!? M: WTF? I just wanted to watch something we agree on. Rewards: Crying wife who claims I've emotionally abused and neglected her.
The Drunken Wife modifier makes this nightfall much more intense.
Seriously though, this woman used to play Borderlands with me, a lot. . . then we got married. MORAL: Women lie, manipulate, and do anything else in their power to try to gain control of you. NEVER, EVER get married, just don't do it. Modern marriage is a trick, a mechanism of control for the new "modern","independent" woman. Edit. I tried to make this funny but it became more of a vent. I mean, you never know somebody. If I'm ever single again, I will remain that way for the rest of my life. Edit 2. A lot more responses to this than expected. It's awesome, in a sad kind of way, to know I'm not alone in this and I appreciate all the replies. I don't think women are evil, and I don't hate women. I would just advise anyone who thinks they may have found "the one" to spend as much time dating and living with them as possible before taking the plunge. Me and many others have found that the woman we dated is not the woman we married, and I'm sure many women have the same problem with the men in their lives. My stated views on marriage as a mechanism of control that greatly favors women still stand.

When I first started playing Destiny (admittedly wayyy too much), my wife got irritated pretty often. I noticed after a while that she would throw "that game" in my face every time we argued, claiming I care about xbox more than family. This bothered me, so I sat down with her and tried to resolve it so that things weren't so tense. She claimed that as long as we spent time together (I know, ew, right?) for at least a couple hours every day, what we do after that is whatever. I was obviously skeptical..you know..because women.. but, basically what has ended up happening is that every day after work, we sit and talk for a bit, I help her cook dinner, we clean up for a bit and talk some more, then go our separate ways until pretty much bed time. She plays on her phone and computer for most of the night, and I play Destiny. On my days off, we make make some sort of plans, like dinner, lunch, a movie, etc. Its not perfect every day, but it works. We hardly ever argue about video games anymore. I didn't even catch flak on TDB release day for playing for about 12 total hours. I can relate to the problems experienced by a lot of the guys posting here, but I got lucky and got an actually rational wife.

                • The Wife grimoire card reminds us of the dangers:
Wife Grimoire Card: Deep in the home of Guardians, the fabric of reality bends to the will of the Wife. Husbands speak in tones of awe of the Wife - a creature that seems to possess a dreaded, almost unimaginable strength: an ontological weapon. Like the Girlfriend and the Fiance, the Wives reputedly possess the ability to define what is and is not real. Whatever they perceive becomes subject to erasure at their will. Until a countermeasure can be found, Husbands must avoid their gaze at all costs - or reply to any detection with immediate, overwhelming force. The Wives' ability must be tied to the nature of the the household hierarchy. We can take some solace in the clear fact that women cannot manifest this power in the world outside.
• Active Modifiers: Night Fail: You don't get laid. Red Dragon: Wife is on period and has a chance of crying, dying, and/or attacking. Chance of all happening at the same time. Wife has triple health, you get half health, and you don't get laid x 30. Heroic: Nothing you say, do, or think is correct. And yet you keep trying to be right. Emotion: She can and can't live without you, and because you are a man, its your fault, even though she ate the fruit in the garden of eden. Insanity: Wife can go from pouting to merciless bitch randomly. Chance of both. Fortunately I have my Legendary Balls equipped, and Exotic "My Own F*N 60" TV in the Living Room". It is possible she will drop some engrams in, but mostly uncommon insults and rare compliments and TLC. **Actually my wife is excellent, she doesn't care either way. She still plays NES, SNES, Xbox360, and Chess. :D**

                      • That sucks. My wife encourages me to play. The only thing she worries about is carpal tunnel /arthritis. I think that's a valid point as I can feel the early stages of both.
