Possible problem? Rapid 7 melee kill bounty
Hey guys, I was playing with my little brother trying to help him with Eris' 7 melee kill bounty where you need to rapidly kill 7 enemies. We had made an easy plan for him to complete it using the Skywatch area and we used the little encounter between the hive and fallen enemies where it's 4 vandals and 2 dregs vs. 2 thralls and 4 acolytes which equals up to 12 enemies. This is when I noticed something wrong. First attempt I had him just go rush in and punch them to a pulp. At first he was too slow, then second time he was quick enough, but never completed the bounty. He then thought that it might have to be as fast as earning the double kill or quad feed accolades in CoD. We then went to step 2 and decided that I would body shot the vandals to weaken them enough for him to just punch them once to kill them. he went fast enough, but for some odd reason it still never counted for him. Here I thought maybe that bungie went and put a failsafe so that people have to both damage and kill with melee only. Then last attempt we used the Blade of Crota weapon to accomplish it. first attempt he used both the r1 and r3 attacks, never worked so i looked it up and people have said that the r1 attack doesn't count with some saying because it takes to much time for it to count rapidly and some say the game doesn't read that attack as a "Melee". 2nd attempt he only used r3 and it still didn't read. Could this be a bug with the update? or maybe he is doing something wrong and i'm not spotting it. I've completed it multiple times before doing these attempts on my own and succeeded. Any ideas?
[b]Edit:[/b] Thanks everyone for the advice, sadly I had forgotten to mention that he is only at level 18 so we weren't able to go to the fist of crota mission to accomplish this bounty for him. He has accomplished this now thanks to you guys with the advice and best notions as to where to go to complete this. Now if only I knew if there was a way to delete forum threads of mine that are solved, outdated or even because I don't like my old ideas on certain weapons that could use tweaks such as the No Land Beyond sniper rifle. If anyone knows how, I would love to know. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't say you have to kill hive - just head on patrol from Earth towards the divide - I melee'd everyone in that room between with my special (as a hunter) and got the bounty.....

1 ReplyRun the dark beyond mission on level 9 where all of the thrall run at u, the mission thats like 'we'we woken the hive, mele seven of the 40 thralls its easy, and they are all one hits

Do the fist of crota mission, kill the sword bearer and pick the sword then go and kill the thralls and other enemies , the sword counts as melee, have a good one.

1 ReplyIn the fist of crota mission there is a knight in the first part who has a sword. Shortly after killing him a bunch of thrull come running out. Maybe try that level

2 RepliesYou could also do that first mission on the Moon. If you're a high enough level, run right in and melee the 20 or so Thrall that come pouring out. They squeeze their way through as soon as they have space so be sure to give yourself a little breathing room; the Knights are right behind the doors as well.
