The history chapter which was referenced way too much in the previous one, i understand I'm sorry, will encompass everything up to the Dark Below DLC as i see it. there will still be some gaps as this is not the history of individual guardians that have lived before us, but it will cover the races and our war. In the beginning there was a metaphorical war between matter and antimatter. In our universe matter won. There is an alternate universe (AU) where antimatter won. We live in the world of matter, where the Darkness, the Hive gods, and even once the Vex live. The traveler and the Darkness were both the highest form of physical beings that existed in their respective worlds. They had immense control over the universe around them and could bend almost any of the laws of the universe to their will. In the AU the vex worshiped the darkness, wanting nothing more than one day being able to harness the same power it does. The darkness blessed them with powers as the Traveler did to us. These powers are very similar to our own, we call it harnessing the light, but really its only harnessing the matter. The Vex we would say are harnessing darkness, but just as before they are just harnessing antimatter. The AU was glimpsed from our world by the Hive, they observed the parallels and worshiped them as gods. This was done through the small tears that happened as the Darkness came across the bridge in its quest to come into our world. They pushed into the AU trying to reach their perceived gods, offering them sacrifices to appease them. This may have made it easier for the Darkness to come over, and it may have even alerted the Traveler to its coming. The Traveler was being hunted by the darkness, sent on its quest from the black garden by our own hands. The traveler needed an army to fight it off so it could survive, and it chose us. It placed itself on mars, knowing we would find it there. When found it blessed us with gifts and advancements to make us love it, to make us forget what life was like without it. When the darkness came with its armies, we wanted to fight for it. We repelled the first attack and even went into the black garden to fight it further. It was here that we actually sent the darkness after ourselves. Places like the black garden and the VoG are confirmed to exist somewhere locked out of time by the Vex and this is where the Darkness slept. When we entered the garden it was after the collapse, but when the Darkness fled after our fight it was much before. We were sent there by the Traveler to try to dispose of the Darkness while it was weak, but failed, it only enraged it. The darkness gathered its army, pushing open a portal to the AU for the hive, corrupting the Fallens home world and forcing them out of it and sending them on a quest to rebuild on earth. The vex were ready starting on mercury and moving to venus and then enclosing us in with mars. The Cabal have been shown to follow a central leader, although there are small groups that choose not to follow them, whoever they may be. Who led them to our solar system isnt what is important but that they were also there to squash any form of resistance we could muster. These four armies was the first wave of the attack sent on us by the darkness. They weakened our defenses and made us retreat out of places we have called home for possibly centuries. Just when things don't look like they can get any worse something dark happens to our outer planets. This was the first wave of antimatter to strike us, and luckily it was the last. I believe preventing this from happening a second time was the only truly good thing the traveler did for us, but it is no where near enough. Humans fled upon hearing what was coming to our solar system, but didn't understand that it was unavoidable. Trapped in what we now call the reef these humans were changed, torn half way in between matter and antimatter they have become what we call the awoken. With the now two races fighting off armies of darkness still not being enough they made a third, the exos. these sentient machina were mainly created for war, and were guardians all the same. Even with their help it was not enough though. The traveler had put itself into a coma to hide from war, wishing only to be protected as it slept creating the ghosts to select heros to fight using its powers over matter(light) to repel the armies and the darkness. We now enter the time where our individual guardian awakens and joins the fight once more, it isnt long until the speaker sends us into the black garden to fight the darkness, setting our fate once again. Much has happened from here that every player should experience, myself included, like the VoG and CE. [b]Eris' and her fire team[/b] I put this at the end because i dont honestly know where it would fit in the timeline, and its pretty jumbled up as it is now. Eris and her fireteam were not the first to go try to fight Crota, just until us, the most successful. Another team went to the moon and were met by Crota and quickly defeated. One was found outside the temple itself and others were lost further in. Eris was the sole survivor of that terrible fight. It may have started on the moon, but that was only half of it. Her fire team fought Crota valiantly and almost won. They banished him back to the AU, following him there to finish him off once and for all they lost. This is where we fight him today, in the AU. His will, might, fist, eye and all the rest are parts of him and were defeated before challenging him, otherwise i do not think we could have won. Crota was low ranking however, when it comes to the gods of the hive and i fear what other horrors they have waiting for us.
