Any tips for a guy who's terrible at everything?

I use the warlock since it's the only class I'm comfortable with using the most. However, I'm just terrible half the time. Doesn't matter what class I use, Hunter, Titan, Warlock, I'd still do poorly. Shotguns are a no-go. Can't hit anything with them. Snipers are useless for me since I always get spotted first. Fusion Rifles, well if I'm lucky, I can actually hit something. Auto Rifles...well usually the other guy can kill me faster than my auto rifle can kill them. Machine guns? I'm as bad at using those as I am at auto rifles. Rocket launchers? Well if I can even get to some heavy ammo, I can get a kill or 2, but ultimately, there's a high chance that I'm gonna get killed afterwards. Scout Rifles, well there's more of a chance of me hitting something with those than with a sniper at least. Pulse Rifles? Tried it once, didn't work out. Seems the only weapon I can use efficiently is a handcannon. Though even then, 65% of the time, I end up missing because the other person's moving far too quickly for me to land a hit. Though my aim is atrocious to begin with. I know how to use the radar somewhat, but that doesn't stop the enemy from getting the drop on me. Grenades are hardly useful. I end up wasting my Super half the time or get killed before I can launch it. My melee is usually how I get my kills when it's a close range fight if I can land 2 hits before the enemy can. I've watched countless videos on how to improve, but none of those strategies really help much at all. Guess I'll always be a noob... :/

  • I was in the same boat when I started. Really the only way you're gonna improve is practice. Lots of miserable, grindy practice. I had to do the bounties for thorn, bad juju, and invective all at the same time and it helped me a lot. The next week I did iron banner 2.0 everyday for like 6 or so hours each day. As a result I'm now much more comfortable in PvP with a k/d over 1.5 and I actually really enjoy it now. Practice does so much more than just improve your accuracy. You learn the maps and all the heavy spawn points and find your playstyle and proffered weapon setup. Just keep experimenting until something feels comfortable the practice with it to become better.
