I am glad Xur didn't have the Gjallarhorn, here's why.
Ok, so let's start with the basic logic everybody already understands.
1) Xur sells Gjallarhorn
2) Everybody is happy and buys Gjallarhorn
3) People spend the weekend upgrading Gjallarhorn
4) By Tuesday, everyone has an upgraded Gjallarhorn- at least with Wolfpack Rounds.
Sounds good so far, right?
Well, let's continue.
5) Weekly Heroic/Nightfall- both jokes, people just use Gjallarhorn and slaughter the boss/the adds quickly and painlessly.
6) VoG - groups kill the Templar instantly, groups kill Atheon within 1-2 time's vengeance. So VoG is a joke.
7) Crota's End- Gjallarhorn on shriekers, every group gets hidden chest free (wasn't hard anyways). Gjallarhorn at Deathsinger, wizards dead in 30 seconds, another 30 seconds shriekers are dead, another 30 seconds to a minute and Deathsinger is dead. People use Gjallarhorn to instantly take down Crota's shield, and use Gjallarhorn on adds+oversoul. Crota fight gets even easier.
8) Vanguard Tiger/Roc - More Gjallarhorn spam, more instant killing bosses.
9) Daily Heroics - these were already pretty easy, made even easier with infinite Gjallarhorns.
Clarification: so now Everybody has Gjallarhorn, it's not special any more, everything in the game becomes a joke. Bungie is either forced to nerf Gjallarhorn or make everything in the game 5 times harder. New players would be angry because they missed the opportunity, and many will stop playing/not buy the game. Nobody has any reason to use an exotic other than Gjallarhorn unless its something like the Hawkmoon, Suros, or Mythoclast. Game is unbalanced, and the end result will be Gjallarhorn being ruined for everyone - or some other unhappy result.
[b]Tl;Dr: Game unbalanced, not fun, Gjallarhorn gets nerfed after a week/everything gets crazy health+damage buffs and everyone is sad.[/b]
Well that's my 2 cents on the matter. What are your opinions on the topic?

4 RepliesI don't get it, you might be one of those who bought ghorn on week 2, so it means you're one of those who didnt "earn it" and is playing quietly while you slaughter every boss, what makes you so much better that the others don't have the right to use it? We all paid the game no? And fyi a lot of players do have the ghorn but prefer using their exotic slot for another weapon

Melted Omnigul in the nightfall this week with 7 Gjally rockets. If it weren't for some wolf rounds hitting adds it might have been less. Fight lasted around 30 seconds.

Honestly it's kinda 2 sided issue. On one side I'd love for other ppl on my teams to have it and make things faster. On the other side im kinda afraid if everyone has it it'll get nerfed due to ppl saying it makes things too easy. If you don't think it lives up to the hype, you're wrong, it's a crutch weapon and once you have it you cant put it down.

1 ReplyThe way I see it, these Elitist are holding their precious exotics close to their chest and hold their breath each time Xur comes because they want to be a special snow flake. When Xur finally sells That rocket launcher, which he will, it won't be the end of the world.

1 ReplyAll of this can be done with a regular 331 rocket launcher or an Icebreaker/Black Hammer. Wouldn't change anything about gameplay.

2 Repliesdude if you think a Gjallarhorn will break this game your just blind or stupid. my team beats crota and atheon raid all in under an hour with only 3 Gjallarhorn. in which we dont use for the whole time. with ice breaker i can solo nightfalls with that gun alone. i can do that with a Gjallarhorn unless i use countless ammo packs. if you think the nightfalls are hard your doing somthing wrong. me and friends use them for glimmer farming easiest way. this weeks raid we can complete in 10-15 mins and obtain around 3500-4000 glimmer and we use vex or fusion rights with solor damage over Gjallarhorn. for roc strikes they are easy if you have two friends which i hope you have by now you can complete them fast then a random group. i dont have a Gjallarhorn and yes i would like one but i not afraid of xur selling it and ohhh no game went to shit. i love this game put it has its flaws. but saying how one boss killing only gun will break the game, you either havnt played this game as much as others or have gotten lucky to obtain value guns and dont wanna see other obtain them in an easier fashion.

So just to be clear, you are glad he didn't sell Gjallarhorn for the EXACT SAME reason as everyone else who doesn't want him to sell it? Insightful..... not.

Your post isn't logical sorry to say. You may kill bosses fast but I murder every boss in under a minutes with my strike team and none of us use a gally we use black hammer. People kill atheon in 1-2 time vengeance anyways WITHOUT the gally. I kill Templar quick we did it today in Like 4 shield take downs and no one used the gally. Honestly it may help a little but the way you and everyone else is acting, it's like. The game is gunna freakn explode and its gunna be unplayable ever again.

Are you crota? Because gjallarhorn users don't bitch about it being overpowered. I think you're secretly crota and you don't want to get the ghorn in your face all day. You're just mad that more guardians would be able to blast their way through your raid. #getrekt

I'm almost 100% sure I want everyone having a Gjallarhorn. PvE is easy as is. Gjallarhorn would make bullet sponge bosses die quickly and save me time.

I totally agree. I really want the Gjallarhorn, I'll giveaway exotics for it. But I really don't want Xür to sell it because of the reasons above

2 RepliesSo I actually agree with the over saturation aspect. Too many Gjallarhorns out there would probably be a bad thing considering how strong it is. I can't believe they haven't nerfed it already. A million gjallies out there would definitely expedite a nerf. Bungie won't do it, so they will never let Xur sell it again, especially now that everyone knows how good it is. What I don't agree with is that if everyone has it, it won't be special. Exclusivity doesn't make it special, it just means it is rare. The design, perks, and how fun it is to use make it special. That mindset screams elitism.

I've had it since the first couple of weeks the game was out, I just want him to sell it so my friends can get it. You can only use one exotic at a time anyway, most people would probably swap it out for icebreaker or suros etc. anyway.

I wouldn't mind if it was easy. After the first time the raids can be done considerably shorter they begin to lose they're flare. When a cheese is found people will flock to it for various reasons. For me it's because I have less time to play games so I cheese so I can do it with my 3 characters. If everyone had ghallahorns it will make it somewhat easier but that is more for the bosses. The ghallahorn will not help greatly with other areas and if you have a good team you can do these bosses in a few minutes so to me it doesn't matter if he sells it

2 RepliesEdited by ziva: 1/2/2015 8:42:33 PMI killed atheon in 1 runs with no gjallorhorn on the team, even with it gjallorhorn we drop Crota in 3 seconds (I timed it) Templar is getting easier every time and if I took some of the Crota guys with me I would say we could start getting that chest again. Roc strikes are pretty easier anyway and can be cleared quickly. Death singer is cake walk with ice breakers for the Wizards and it only requires one rocket from my hunger of Crota to drop the shrieker (same with the shrieker hall) and that witch goes down no matter what your running if you have a mildly competent team. I will be honest I want a gjallorhorn and i admit it is unstoppable but that doesn't mean that it is needed or even going to make a big difference on a lot of the team activities Edit: 1 spelling

Also the upside of it being sold, is that banshee would more than likely see more guardians when they go to buy their heavy ammo, to support this spamming heavy lifestyle!
