Ok, so let's start with the basic logic everybody already understands.
1) Xur sells Gjallarhorn
2) Everybody is happy and buys Gjallarhorn
3) People spend the weekend upgrading Gjallarhorn
4) By Tuesday, everyone has an upgraded Gjallarhorn- at least with Wolfpack Rounds.
Sounds good so far, right?
Well, let's continue.
5) Weekly Heroic/Nightfall- both jokes, people just use Gjallarhorn and slaughter the boss/the adds quickly and painlessly.
6) VoG - groups kill the Templar instantly, groups kill Atheon within 1-2 time's vengeance. So VoG is a joke.
7) Crota's End- Gjallarhorn on shriekers, every group gets hidden chest free (wasn't hard anyways). Gjallarhorn at Deathsinger, wizards dead in 30 seconds, another 30 seconds shriekers are dead, another 30 seconds to a minute and Deathsinger is dead. People use Gjallarhorn to instantly take down Crota's shield, and use Gjallarhorn on adds+oversoul. Crota fight gets even easier.
8) Vanguard Tiger/Roc - More Gjallarhorn spam, more instant killing bosses.
9) Daily Heroics - these were already pretty easy, made even easier with infinite Gjallarhorns.
Clarification: so now Everybody has Gjallarhorn, it's not special any more, everything in the game becomes a joke. Bungie is either forced to nerf Gjallarhorn or make everything in the game 5 times harder. New players would be angry because they missed the opportunity, and many will stop playing/not buy the game. Nobody has any reason to use an exotic other than Gjallarhorn unless its something like the Hawkmoon, Suros, or Mythoclast. Game is unbalanced, and the end result will be Gjallarhorn being ruined for everyone - or some other unhappy result.
Tl;Dr: Game unbalanced, not fun, Gjallarhorn gets nerfed after a week/everything gets crazy health+damage buffs and everyone is sad.
Well that's my 2 cents on the matter. What are your opinions on the topic?
>inb4 "you just feel special because you have Gjallarhorn": I have opposed the prospect of Xur reselling Gjallarhorn since it first arose several months ago. I only got a Gjallarhorn last week.

(Destiny Developers release the Gjallarhorn to the ignorant public) Let the chaos unfold (evil laugh here)
-
While I agree. I think they should make xur sell a bounty that you can get gally from. Something that would be so hard to the point of it taking 3 days minimum and was timed to say 5-7 days. Making it slightly more popular and still extremely rare
-
Even though you are right in a way I still want galley really bad
-
Edited by BrokenBicycle: 1/3/2015 3:13:23 AMThere's a video of a group killing atheon like in 17 seconds when the whole group have galleys that's ridiculous

Hit 50 raid completions before commenting on a raid weapon. Yawn, weak troll post.
-
TL;DR you're a shit tier troll, at least try next time
-
But people want me to have it to join their groups. Not having one limits my gameplay.
-
Nerf imbound
-
Gally master race!
-
You can literally have godzillahorn maxed in a day if you just do all your bounties with it.
-
Here's a vid of me encoding a legendary engram which turns into the beloved ghorn
-
I don't really care I feel like I want it just because every one else wants it. I have hunger of Crota and yeah it's no g horn but it does the job. I don't think they'll ever sell it again tho just because they've seen how great of a boss killer it's become, and they can't nerf it cuz then people would freak out.
-
I got my ghallahorn from crota today
-
Edited by XboxJuan: 1/3/2015 1:56:30 AMSound logic... I'd hate for this thing of beauty to get nerfed
-
I don't care about all this nonsense because I already have a ghorn, but if xur sold it I'd buy 2 so I could have one on each character without switching.
-
I'm already a member of the jelly club so I couldn't care less lol but seriously though, if it gets nerfed I'll be sad:(
-
It'd get nerfed. Wolfpack would do 50% damage or half 50% seekers.
-
Its an awesome weapon to have but it is not the end all be all in the game. If it was as good as you make it out to be it would have been nerfed a long time ago. Its a great rocket but most times I have a exotic primary or secondary since ammo isnt as hard to come by and its cheaper to use a legendary heavy glimmer wise.

1. Sweet. I've been waiting for it. 2. Same as number 1. 3. Same as 1 and 2 4. If they play enough. 5. Why do you care? They can already be soloed. 6. This already happens without the gjallahorn with the right team. 7. Entire raid can be soloed. Same as number 6. 8. Easy marks for materials. 9. Why do you care? So in general, you have one and don't want others to have it either. Ever one of your points except 1-4 are moot arguments. If Xur won't sell it anymore, then Bungies lazy ass needs to come out and announce it. At least some of the hate will stop. Snowflakes like yourself need to be banned for the simple reason of holding something you have over everyone's head acting like you're better than them. Newsflash, you're not. Everyone getting the gjallahorn would allow many to keep enjoying this game instead of dropping the gaming population more. A happy customer is a money spending customer. Didn't you learn that in economics?

Edited by LostMiind: 1/3/2015 12:47:53 AMWhat you call "logic" I call speculation. I have Gjallarhorn and know what a difference maker it is but for Bungie to nerf it would be the ultimate betrayal to it's player base. I want Xûr to sell Gjallarhorn to see if they'd nerf it. If they did I would make my exit because then it would be obvious Bungie does not want us having fun while playing Destiny. Also, a lot of special snowflakes use this same defence to argue why Xûr shouldn't sell it. I'm for anything that could possibly shut them up.

Listen Up OP. All of the reasons you wrote IS EXACTLY why the weapon SHOULD BE AVAILABLE! No one wants to spend hours fighting the exact same bosses over and over and over and over for more time than necessary. People want to get in, get the rewards and get out. This will not make the game any less fun because the rocket launcher is not as over powered as it was made out to be on these forums. It makes battles slightly easier and is not "cheese" worthy. Even if it was cheese worthy, so what? Take moment to look at what the black hammer does to boss fights like sepkis and the archon priest. You can finish them in minutes/seconds That is the fun part! If a weapon exists that makes game play of repetitive missions more efficient, then everyone should get an opportunity to own said weapon. If you feel strongly about keeping the difficulty level high then don't use said weapon(s) if owned.

I freaking commend this person. He gets it, and coming from someone who does not have Gjallarhorn I agree. We all would love Gjallarhorn. After all Gjallarhorn is love, Gjallarhorn is life. However, now that everyone appreciates its awesomeness, the game would be flooded with them, raids would become jokes. Content would become face rollable. The Gjallarhorn would take a hit and we would cry.

I don't see the problem

Ok I have 3 gjallarhorns. I also am about 10 minutes off of maxing out another one to 332 damage. It is an amazing gun. Absolutely stunning. It's damage output is out of this world and far beyond any other of the exotic heavy weapons. HOWEVER, I am tired of doing a raid with ransoms and me being the only one with it. I just did a raid through lfg with mostly 25-26 players and 2 other 31s (yes I know I'm a 31 I was just being charitable doing the normal raid). I was doing more damage to atheon and the templar than my 5 team mates combined who were armed with sub par weapons. As gjallarhorn does close to 3 times the damage of any other heavy in the game. Now I'm tired of being the one that teams have to rely on. You know sometimes I just want to sit back and snipe with my ice breaker. But no, right when we get to a boss it's 'who has a gjallarhorn?' You know I'm good with the relic as well! I also have a 331 void fusion rifle! I also want to work on my ice breaker and suros! I haven't even used my suros. With a gjallarhorn comes power. And with great power comes great responsibility. I want some of that responsibility shared!
