I am just wondering why people hate bumping so much, people always freak when others bump.

i going to have to bump my zom-b map cause it took me 5 hours and i said thers pics and video and i worked on it for 5 hours and no one repled

It is somewhat forgivable when the topic hasn't even been given a chance at life because it happened to be coming at the same time as a hundred "do u liek mudkipz" threads, but bumping after a topic has been discussed in a desperate attempt to get a hot topic is just pathetic.

Bumping isn't sexy, face it.
-
dude...you basically said what i said....but with more words.....and more thought.....and more intellect.... oh screw it. my post means nothing.
Posted by: evilcam If no one is replying to your topic, it means the community is not interested in discussing it. If that's the case, attempting to get more attention via bumping (or all caps titles, or any other selfish type of act) annoys people because you're subverting normal netiquette in order to get attention for yourself. When they can't, or won't do that type of thing, why would they think its acceptable if you do it? As I said, if people are not discussing it, its probably for a reason. What gives you the right to decide what's worth discussing and what's not? Simple answer, regardless of what you think, you don't have that right. Of course bumping also knocks other topics, which people might have been replying to, down to the bottom.
Do you love me?

let me fix that statement... i hate bumping because i find it annoying. if you bump, it's because you think your thread is worth something, but nobody is paying attention to you. so if you bump consistently, then keep this in mind: nobody cares about your worthless thread. get over it. But it bothers me when people get mad when I do it to my thread after waiting for a long time, or when it dies as soon as I make the thread. I mean, most of my threads took me alot of time to type up because I usually type up like 3 or 5 paragraphs of text, and then to see it just sink to the bottom pages of the forums in 5 seconds is rediculous. When that happens, I think I have the RIGHT to bump my topic.
Hey, here's a tip: Try typing up all of your ridiculous wall of text, copy/pasta it, and then "Create New Topic" again, and paste! Viola, a post at the top of the page.
I blacklist for that :)
You blacklist for bumping too.Either way people lose.
So what have we learned? Maybe because it gets a thread that the people posting no longer wants on the front page on the front page.

Viola, a post at the top of the page.
So instead of just bumping my topic, you want me to make ANOTHER topic. That doesn't solve any problems. I would rather see someone bump their topic once or twice then make a NEW topic. I think that if someone's topic dies out quickly, do to so many topics being created all at once, then he should be able to bump the topic within reason. Sure, bumping your topic 3 times RIGHT after its created. But if I wait 20 minutes plus without getting any replies, I think that bumping the thread is reasonable. Seriously man, do you really have to be an a-hole about this? Maybe you didn't intend to come across that way, but after reading your post, you really sounded like a dick. Please, stop trying to insult people.

ok thanks
Posted by: RevengeKill Because if your topic doesn't attract any visitors, why should it take up needed space on the front page?
cuz its unfair. and when people post on their thread like 8 times in a row saying pointless -blam!- and they deny that they are bumping, that pisses me off.
-
SURPRISE BUMPSECKS! =P I think it's because you're pushing other threads down... Maybe they can has jealousy?
