Microsoft kept bungie in check with the Halo series. When Bungie got mad they couldn't do anything else the left. This is the result. I guess Microsoft was onto something when they said Bungie could only make Halo
NOTE: I like this game and play everyday. I think its a good game, but Halo it is not.

Did Microsoft say that? If they did, they were pretty spot on.

Amongst other things. They saw independent makers (EPIC, gears of war) making money. While EPIC was NOT owned by Microsoft, you see now Gears of War is developed by Microsoft Studios with EPIC. Bungie wanted some of that money too, and rightly so. Microsoft wanted Halo, Halo, Halo. Bungie wanted money, money, money. They agreed on a separation and you now have Destiny
