The fact that yall would spend 45 minutes trying to "glitch" crota onto one knee, when it takes ONE CLEAN RUN of 3 sword rotations (6 minutes) to kill him is mind boggling to me.
This isn't a thread about how cheesing sucks. It's just obvious in this raid that the "cheese" is not as efficient as doing it the way it was meant to be done. I get it. Atheon push was fast loot. but you're embarrassing yourself by not learning the simplest of mechanics that make this game challenging and interesting.
I'm glad I have my own group that learned how to do this shît because almost every time I try to play with forum fegs it ends up being a tedious shítfest of explaining how to kill a swordbearer without dying. How to negate oversoul. How to wait out Crota rotation. When to DPS his shield. Where to go for ogres. Etc etc. I appreciated the struggle it was to learn this raid. I appreciated the fire it lit within me to want to LEARN how to smash crota into the ground. Because to me, that was the point of buying the "Expansion". To regain some interest in one of the coolest video games to be released in the last 5 years.
I have met some badas$ players and still raid with them weekly, but It's like most of you kids don't even want to learn how to play Destiny's content. You just expect to be carried through everything.
With this being said, take the time to learn the fight. You'll be rewarded with faster clear times, cleaner kills, and less struggle. Not only that, but you won't be left in the cold when your exploits get patched, and you'll become a better Destiny player in general.
Goodnight guardians. God speed against Crota.

Sorry but Bungie is the only party who can fix this. As soon as they will decide to patch the glitches, people will have to learn it, and then it won't be as hard to find a fireteam who can do it. I speak as someone who's done it legit twice and cheesed once. I enjoy the legit way more, and I can't wait till we are forced into it. But now, it's nearly impossible to get everybody to commit to it without feeling like you're the dick of the party not letting people get their loot. Bungie's problem to fix, just being realistic. Giving people a crutch discourages them from maxing their gear and learning the mechanics, and I don't want to be the person motivating them like I'm their mom or something.
-
Agreed, but be kind and willing to teach those that are doing it for the first time, at least as long as they are willing to listen and work together as a team.
-
We haven't used it once, purely for the fact that in a way the fight is easier then Atheon after all. And also just in case they do bother to randomly ban or such people that are using the glitch.

I agree with your point about doing the clean runs (I'm usually sword bearer) but calling out "90%" of raiders trash is just egotistical. Not everyone plays on the same level as u. There's a huge spectrum of players ranging from super casual to insanely hardcore. Can't expect everyone to play like you do, right?

Edited by steg567: 12/21/2014 6:05:01 AMOP is trash, FIX IT
-
A bit extreme, but I hear ya, man.
-
Your trash kid
-
We can do it in two. We have a titan throw up weapons of light on the rock behind Crota (while he's in mid) and our level 32 relic guy moves up to take him out. I believe he said he does 22k damage?
-
Actually it takes about 5 minutes to get crota on his knees ad 1 sword to finish him

The only way to save a dying tree is to cut off all the sick branches.

Edited by Cardinal Erebus: 12/20/2014 1:55:35 PMLet me inspect you characters Kid, you are the one that's trash. You mainly play Crucible in fact i will stop there because insulting you isn't even worth it.

Preach brother. Füçking preach.

We took a 27 through without cheeses
-
Agreed. Took my team 1.5 hours this week for WHOLE raid, times two for double run on secondary characters. Cheesing is just pathetic at this point. This raid is easier than VoG
-
1. Your statistic is trash 2. 45 minutes? It takes not even two minutes to drop him to his knee. From then you grab the sword and kill him in one go, two if you need to.
-
Lol take some cheese and we get him in 4 min lol
-
I have like 200+ deaths from wiping cuz we had a crap sword guy after 6 shitty hrs i said -blam!- it i used the sword got him on my first -blam!-ing try took 3 swords COMBO R1-R1-R2-fast. And a big R2 at the end
-
Good post bud :)
-
/: I agree I have killed him twice now the real way and it only took maybe 5 mins each.. I tried to cheese once because the group I was with decided they didn't want to do it the other way and after 40 mins we still had not killed him:/ Never doing that again lol
-
I killed him five times and i glitched it once the glitch is -blam!-ing shit and runs the thrill of teamwork and accomplishment. Just gives people who say the game sucks more reason for it to suck.

I think Ir Yût was harder... Mostly because some people couldn't avoid the Knights. Our sword bearer was pretty good, but we wiped a few times because he failed to get up on the platform. I dunno, it took a while, but we got the basic strategy down pretty quick, then it just was down to the execution. I found CE considerably more straightforward than VoG.

It's not that hard. Do it legit if you can. But if the team wants to get it done toot smart, thems the breaks. Loot is loot. And rng gonna love you or finger you no matter how you got it to roll. Personally I think the only fun part of the raid is the lamps. God old fashioned thrall mashing chaos. The gatekeepers are simple. Hallway is what it is and ir yut is flat out punitive game design. That part went in solely for the simple reason that without it the raid would take 15 mins. Then they said no loot too. That kind of game design makes people look for cheeses. I just can't believe all the talk when there has only been 796 completions. It's not like all the cheeses are having a huge impact !! Maybe if it was already at 70000 completions. Just seems Raiders want their loot fast.

That's the real boss in this game. Retard players who have no situational awareness who can't be bothered to move when a boomer lobs a rather slow moving projectile towards u. It's mind boggling how I've seen people die from it when they're not dealing with anything else

Edited by GANTZ: 12/20/2014 12:05:53 AMi did crota once legit ... but when i was looking for a capable party to win it legit on the forum, all i got were replies like "noone wants to carry you" and didnt get any help from the self proclaimed pro's today i found out about the new method to play , it made my day , for the first time crota raid has become a fun social activity where everyone was welcome to play wheter hes a 30 or 31 and everyone enjoyed it , it was a great experience reminds me of good old days of vog hard where 28s were playing along 29s on atheon hard and everyone had fun , but then bungie stepped it and suddenly it was "30s only" and all others got left behind its funny but also sad at the same time that a bug/glitch makes the game more social and rewarding than a fix

Edited by bocaj00: 12/20/2014 3:55:31 AMIt's not hard at all with the right team on both raids, VOG is always easier with people my age and are mature. Also beat crota first time today thanks to an awesome relic holder. Now I always cheesed the Templar due to the fact I had no idea how to raid or what to do, now I understand how easy it is to work as a team and get it done quick. I went from being a scrub to volunteering to use the relics :) All I'm saying is it feels way more rewarding the right way :)
