Hear that Deej, Bungie... That silence is the sound of shrinking market share. I can only assume investors are already jumping ship. If that happens, or is happening, what happens to that $500 mil budget dedicated to the Destiny franchise.
I guess the angry voices do indeed outweigh the fandoys you were hoping could save a sinking ship.
Edit: So I've sat back after posting this to watch the waters churn. I'm impressed with the feedback, but I'm not shocked this thread got a lot of attention, positive or negative. People can bash me, the article, or the game as much as they like...point is, I didn't post it to start an argument! I posted it more or less as PSA...in the hopes the attention this thread MIGHT receive gains the attention of someone we've ALL been longing to hear from. Keep the chatter"white" coming y'all.

...And yet the review sites can't stop talking about Destiny or playing Destiny. It's the strangest game. I agree with most TDB reviews, there isn't any story and it doesn't offer anything new or problem solving. On the other hand I am still playing Destiny regularly grinding for better gear.

Know what would make this game feel bigger? More loot. Loot that matters like Borderlands. Right now we have three different colours of trash, one colour that's okay to use, and one that's treasure. We need a metric ton more variety of purple quality guns. And swords as secondaries. And new subclasses. And more vault space. And more armour and shader choices because nobody's unique, we all look the same. And if I want raid level armour on my Titan, why can't I look modern instead of an extra from a Flash Gordon movie?

Link isn't working for me

Edited by unRiva1ed07: 12/19/2014 12:17:46 PMVery fair and accurate review, I hope Bungie gets their crap together!
-
We all might as well enjoy the game now and try to have a positive outlook on it were all too many hours deep in it anyways so at this point who cares. If you wanna teach bungie a lesson next time don't buy the game at first wait for the final results and reviews and stay away from the season pass until your 100 percent sure about destiny 2.....
-
6 out of 10 is still overrated.
-
I expected more from TDB. Its definitely not an "expansion". I defended this game in the past but now there no way i would ever recommend it to anyone with a passion for gaming. Destiny feels incomplete, pointless and unrewarding to those who expected a proper rpg. They tried to redesign lvl and gear progression completely.

500 hours or so in. Grind every day. Agree with the review completely. Calling TDB an expansion is like saying my fart caused a heat wave in Europe.
-
I was actually going to read the full article but he lost me at "still no raid match making"
-
Yet another spot-on article. Bungie doesn't care about making a great game or about it's players. They care about the almighty dollar. I love Destiny and have played it every day since launch, but Bungie is really pissing me off.
-
Most of the reviews and articles I've read angry the fanboys cause the truth hurts. There's very little "extra" stuff in this dlc ESP at a $20 price tag. Honestly bungie should have given the "story" out for free and call it compensation for players then sell the raid and strike for $10. If they had done that then maybe there wouldn't be so much hate towards them for their shit story that they advertise the shit out of and never deliver
-
Bump. The sad thing is that we all know that Deej and Bungie are just going to ignore the growing concerns for this game. They are like officer barbrady from south park ' move along, nothing to see here! '
-
Everyone blames this whole grind fest/chopped story on Bungie, but Activision likely shoved Destiny out the door half-baked from the oven. They're becoming the new EA. And while clearly Bungie is so mad at their former overlords Microsoft that they've kicked every Xbox owner in the teeth, I suspect they've gone from the frying pan into the fire. I haven't played Destiny in over a month regardless, though. IGN is right.
-
ya reading that makes me like not want to play anymore now i was happy with doing the eris bounties and such .. yes i was not satisfied with how things have changed in destiny since the dlc but that article basically killed my interest in destiny now... thanks ign... what do i play now?
-
Will be interesting to see how much longer this game lasts after "House of Wolves". I know a large circle of people that only continue to play because they are monetarily invested up to that point. I'd bet on a huge decline in player base after the next "expansion". Ultimately the game that kills Destiny will be Destiny.
-
LOOK!!!! It's a herd of Bungie nuthugging Destiny apologist fanboys stampeding out of the forest to defend their territory!!! DON'T HARM THEM!!!! They're an endangered and protected species. Their numbers are dwindling daily.
-
Completely agree with this article. Hit's the nail on the head 100%.
-
Article: Stumbling in the Dark "Short on content, and long on grinding, The Dark Below fails to meaningfully enhance the Destiny experience." Spot on.
-
Only reason I still play this shit game is because I've made some good friends that I enjoy talking to. If they all stopped playing i wouldn't be able to stand another minute of grinding
-
I love the game because of the people I play with, however I do agree with the review the opportunity for greatness was missed
-
This game is crumbling apart
-
This expansion would have been considered a patch in some games.
-
The game is great. No doubt. TDB was a bit lackluster. I really wanted more for my money. Maybe a new planet to explore, some more insight to the reef. More strikes. Harder playlist. How is a 26 playlist fun for levels 30-32? It's not. It's the same faceroll dungeons WoW had.
-
Does Bungie even read these?
-
I agreed with IGN
-
My only problem with the rating is that they spent the entire review ripping TDB and bungie a new one.. to the point one of the reviewers says that he is at a point he doesn't even want to play any more but they still give the game a 6/10. The reason it's a 6/10 according to them is the core game play mechanics are still good... but that was not part of the changes for the Expansion so why should it be considered when scoring the expansion? From the wording of their review I would have expected to see a 4 or 5 at most.
