Hear that Deej, Bungie... That silence is the sound of shrinking market share. I can only assume investors are already jumping ship. If that happens, or is happening, what happens to that $500 mil budget dedicated to the Destiny franchise.
I guess the angry voices do indeed outweigh the fandoys you were hoping could save a sinking ship.
Edit: So I've sat back after posting this to watch the waters churn. I'm impressed with the feedback, but I'm not shocked this thread got a lot of attention, positive or negative. People can bash me, the article, or the game as much as they like...point is, I didn't post it to start an argument! I posted it more or less as PSA...in the hopes the attention this thread MIGHT receive gains the attention of someone we've ALL been longing to hear from. Keep the chatter"white" coming y'all.

Looks like someone forgot to pay IGN.
-
They made their money back within the first two weeks. I thought you should know that. The only good thing about IGN is their hot presenters.
-
You posted it in the destiny forums your obviously looking for attention. If you didn't want attention then you would've posted it in the feedback section or something. We all know you want attention.
-
They're 100% correct. Disappointing expansion
-
It's quite surprising considering that IGN got exclusive interviews and playtime for destiny months before release. I would expect them to defend everything about this game.
-
Umm dude, they made their 500 million budget back the first day of sales. You have 3.2 million people logging in daily, I don't think they're worried and IGN is giving them publicity and if you know anything, publicity is great!! Good or bad... Sorry to burst you bubble...
-
DLC is ok. Missions, new bounties, raid, strikes. For a few bucks what more do you expect? I love destiny. It's a fun version of COD. When I don't want to run a strike or bounty i hunt for dead ghosts or golden chests. The PVP is not for competitive people but to use your guns, gear, & supers to blast your fellow players. I only wish they had open mic on toggle to hear all of the op ranting when I nova bomb your a$$ at a control point.
-
I would take it more seriously if that article was not by an avid Destiny player. The author is just another person slamming the game that he has most likely has put 300+ hours into. That is rarefied air in games IMO
-
IMO I think the dlc is shit. They didn't bring anything 'new' or cool and let's not forget about that story!!! Smh
-
Repeating other people's opinions is not in fact a PSA, just FYI. You are tying your own expression to their viewpoint, regardless of your intent.
-
I'm disappointed in the expansion as well. Still playing it though. Goes to show the gameplay is great... Just tell us what the -blam!- is going on with out forcing me to read some stupid cards on an app!
-
I just like how Bungie ignores all the poor reviews and instead just feeds us recycled numbers in their updates.
-
7.8/10 Too much water...
-
I honestly expected more...but I like it.

Edited by EventHorizon_16: 12/20/2014 1:41:49 PMWhat you have to realize is this "expansion" was already made for a long time. So all the things people aren't happy with had no chance of being fixed or enhanced in any way. Even this small addition to the game takes many, many months to realize. I agree it was light and similar to what we've already played. I hope the next expansion will be more interesting with a bit more varied gameplay as that one has a lot more time to pivot on the community's requests and feedback.
-
Yeah ok, cause the "journalists" at IGN have their finger on the pulse. #Sarcasm

to be fair £20 for an expansion (about 30 bucks) for 3 stories, 1 cutscene and some extra stuff including a raid. compared to what we got in the original game. is pretty poor from bungie, not halo 2 campaign poor but pretty close. IN fact if it wasn't for Halo 2's online multiplayer, that game would have been dead and buried back then. considering how much was spent on this game, even most expansions (early C&C days) had some new characters or new things. But the levels are rehashed, the enemies are the same, and the 3 story missions are just awful. Bungie have failed, they can bounce back, but they've failed ... they just need to admit it. it'd be easier for them to do so... rather than say "it's good value for your money". it's not. it really isn't.

When your leveling system, gear upgrade system, currency system, reputation system, and overall lack of content for a game of this type are bottom 10% of the entire gaming industry atrociously bad, you're going to have this.
-
It's sad when even IGN is lambasting something.
-
Why do people post mad rants? You have time to filter yourself because you're typing. I just don't get it... :(
-
Sadly this expansion and the next one are Disk locked content. We already have it activisionjust made bingie turn them in to DLCs

Edited by Slow Vibe: 12/20/2014 8:11:12 AMEveryone yells at OP for posting criticism on destiny,...more than half of them have responded to other threads with the same concerns as OP. If you can seriously defend a mission pack ( it's not an expansion) for containing so little effort on Bungie's part, then maybe you should never put the controller down. Without objective thinking and criticism for things that are definitely wrong, you're the one that shouldn't be here, telling someone how good something is over and over isn't going to improve it. Period. Bungie after all asked gamers for their opinion about destiny, not a kiss their asses till they're pink event.
destiny is so great -blam!- haterzzz, they just don't understand it Manx they're entitled, blah blah blah, you're a fan boy. Your opinion is even worse than the destint slammers.
-
Wow someone has an opinion about something? Neat.
-
IGN.........seems legit. IGN are the Daily Mail of Gaming Journalism. Scrubs

Edited by Boom Shalock: 12/20/2014 8:13:47 AMGood article, again pointing out the flaws of Destiny (except the raid matchmaking, I don't miss that. Get out of your -blam!-ing comfort zone and spend some effort in finding people!). Still I like to play Destiny with friends, besides all its flaws @Yet Again: Posting this with this "no need to argue, article is proof I am right and I just came here to bash Destiny" is really poor.
