I had to deal with this idiocy in Call of Duty, and seemingly I also encounter this same ignorance on Destiny. It seems that many people are tough when anonymous online and loosely let the word "ni**er" fly out of their mouths with the sole purpose of trying to offend someone.
It is truly sad that those of you who do that or have done it think you're hurting someone. You're actually ruining your own character and becoming someone who lacks integrity.
I was just with a group of guys who I won't put on blast on these forums (nor their clan), but these guys are rude and racists. If you see this post, realize that I could expose you right now, by linking your accounts and your clan page. But I'll refrain.
Grow up and recognize the day and age we live in.
Edit: And no, I DO NOT use the word. Not even casually around African-Americans. Please don't make that assumption or case.
Edit 2: LOL! It's so funny. Many of you don't recognize how ignorant your responses are. Funny that you think I'm offended, angry or something. Uhm, no. Shoutout to all of the respectful and mature guardians of ANY color out there! Because of you, the world is still a great place to live in! :D

Was it "er" or "a" because that apparently makes a difference.
-
No matter where to go there will be a rascist. I am not one of them, I hate everyone equally
-
In fact, non of this is an argument against the word...
-
It's usually kids or immature people who do it. I've hear it a lot too and the conclusion I've drawn comes down to psychology. It's rebellious. The word is SO taboo in or evolving culture that it makes people feel daring, risky, or rebellious to use it. If everyone stopped getting their fallopian tubes all infected over it, I'm sure you'd hear the word a lot less. I doubt most of these kids are even racist.

If I have to use a mic and I don't like what is being said I leave.

Edited by D1V1N1TY: 12/18/2014 10:28:03 PMNot that I condone it ... but I do have many black friends on Destiny, and they use the word a LOT. :) I think it depends on the context and the audience. Some use the word freely in the same context as bud, buddy, bro, bruh, pal, dude, etc ... Either way, I don't disagree with you.
-
That's kind of a double edged sword as black people use the word more than anyone. That said, it's not the greatest word to throw out there especially in a group chat where you most likely don't know the person and just a voice you game with. My advice, toughen up its just words.

Edited by Mike-MF-Hall: 12/18/2014 10:26:56 PMSimple solution is to just not play with those people. Idiots are going to be idiots. You can't convince them to be more tolerant of differences over the internet, and the only person who ends up actually upset is you. At that point they accomplish their goal, so you can't let it get to you. I like it more when people are up front about their bigotry. Makes it easy to know who to avoid, mute, or ignore
-
No place for it in gaming or real life for that matter. I have a zero tolerance for it myself.
-
I joined a party all the guys were mimicking Mexican accents they were white
-
yah bet ther real tough
-
Personally I don't say it, I hear white people say it and I hear black people say it. Having a word that is ok to use for one race and then getting pissed when another race says it is racism in it's sense so unless everybody stops saying it or you stop being offended by it you're just going to have to deal with it.

Or quit crying and move on?
