1 ReplyWhy the Ghost has nothing to say about Rasputin's bunker is just baffling to me.
-
3 RepliesYeah I miss his voice too, I thought he was fine, never understood the criticism of his performance
-
5 RepliesNo. he irritated me. *Alarm sounds -"I'll work faster." Just work at top speed from now on you piece of shit.
-
His absence is notable. He was such a constant fixture in the main game and now his silence feels very wrong.
-
8 RepliesIt kinda sucks, Destiny probably ruined any chance he may have had at a voice acting career. I mean, he probably doesn't need it, since he can get any on-camera dwarf roll he wants, but he probably won't ever be hired for voiceover work again.
-
He does have one line. In the Undying Mind he says
I liked this place better when it was dead
-
I want Eris as my new ghost voice.
-
1 ReplyI thought that was the best part of the DLC. Plus, I doubt they could get Dinklage back to do more lines after the reviews his performance got.
-
I agree, its like my Dinklebot has died! Please save the Dinkebot, its lonely without him!

2 RepliesI absolutely LOVED his voice acting in the live action destiny trailer. He had so much emotion and still had the AI feel. The game, not so much. It sounded like he was trying to sound interested and was like "I physically can't do this" and we ended with the bored disinterested voice in the game.

I'd split the blame at about 70 peter-30 script. Bungies scripts have never been exceptional but if you go back to some of your favorite halo quotes and say them in ghosts voice it'll turn your favorite classic halo quote into a boring, monotone, piece of shit. Eris is much more apt to tell the story. Still bad writing but she at least seems interested and attempts to make a big deal about enemies you are going to encounter. Peter's lines were laughably horrible monotone and awkward. I think what bothers people the most about his removal is he really is the only character that got any sense of development and the only thing our characters really had a relationship with. There are no other NPC interactions really at all. Now they just cut that one character completely from the game?! It was a pretty stupid move on their part. By cutting the only character we have interaction with shows how he really added nothing to the plot or story. I think people are more upset they lost their in game companion (only NPC with slightest bit if interaction) and replaced him with a 3rd party character who doesn't present the same companionship ghost did. I hated peters voice acting but feel like they shouldn't have completely dropped ghost as a character. With zeros'a introduction it would have been a perfect time to allow NOC interaction between ghost and Eris exchanging info or even simply making fun of eachother. Just another missed opportunity by bungie

He will be back on hobo soon game of thrones is about to start
-
It's so dreadful , literally sounds like he had already been paid in full,
-
1 ReplyI was hoping to hear him make occasional remarks as to how unsettling Eris' appearance is.

15 RepliesMe too :C I love my little dinkly. Me and my husband have a list of songs we sing during nightfalls dedicated to our dinklebots. Our songs include, but are not limited to, "Mr. Dinkly" sang in the tune of Mr. Crowley by Ozzy, "Like a Dinkly in the Dark" in the tune of Rainbow in the Dark by Dio, and "My Dinkly Brings All the Hive to the Yard" in the tune of Milkshake. My Dinkly brings all the Hive to the yard, And he's like, You've gotta keep guard, And i'm like, I'm just here for rewards. Want a G Horn? You get nothing but shards. La la la la laaa *ding* Light the dark La la la la laaa *ding* The Hive are coming La la la la laaa *ding* Crack the code La la la la laaa *ding* The Hive are coming

He quit I think

1 ReplyI liked dinklege. Just wish he was more doom and gloom (in a humorous way) and interactive with random quirky statements. He felt slightly disconnected even though he's supposed to be integrated into the character
-
2 RepliesI find it actually takes you away from the immersion of the game. All through the main game your ghost comments constantly on the situation around you yet in the DLC literally nothing at all. It doesn't feel natural. Cortana ahem I mean your ghost should always have something to say about what ever is happening as it is your companion
-
1 ReplyMe too!
-
1 ReplySame! Peter not being in the expansion feels like I am missing a friend from my Fireteam. Really don't see the reason for the hate. Has anyone seen the movie 'Moon'? Kevin Spacey (who few can argue about his acting credentials) voices an AI and puts in a performance that falls below Pete's
-
I don't, on certain parts of the launch content his voice acting is awful. Personaly they should have hired the guy who voiced wheatley in portal 2 (forgot voice actor's name). Or done something with Austin Powers, that'd be smashing.
-
1 ReplyI didn't even notice he was gone lol
-
1 ReplyReally? The new girl is soooo much better imo

3 RepliesI've always been annoyed that there is zero interaction between NPCs. Anything that speaks just speaks to YOU. It makes the universe seem barren. I looked up one of my favorite Halo 3 parts, and it has Keyes, Guilty Spark, Johnson, and some random grunts all interacting with each other and you. It felt believable! (Tank beats EVERYTHING.) That lack of interaction has always bugged me about Destiny. But now in the Dark Below content, it is SUPER jarring. The fact that Dinklebot isn't chiming in on anything just tears my suspension of disbelief out from where it was hiding and kicks it in the gut repeatedly. Is... is he mad at me?

I'm glad I'm not the only one.
