Ability to Downvote to -5, people with -5 have their comments removed and temp ban applied.

Yes, I would use this system

20

No, let people say what they want

34

Yes, but make it -3 downvote to ban them faster

5

I have a better idea (post it below)

Ability to Downvote to -5, people with -5 have their comments removed and temp ban applied. Small steps towards cleaning this place up I guess, what do you guys think? Edit: Downvoting would now send a flag to the mods as a cause for concern, so that they may make their judgement from there. The suggested system would be abused, and so this gives us the ability to flag down potential troublemakers and hopefully have them death with. The ones abusing the downvote would be investigated from there.

    • I think down vote should be uncapped, but i dont agree with temporary bans for people expressing their view points. at leats not 5. I could get 10 friends on here and start getting people banned all over the shop. most of us live in countries that value peoples right to freedom of speech, I dont see the concept being popular. I would vote for a system where after 5 downvotes its flagged for the Forum Admins attention, so they can then pass judgement and interven via the ban hammer if they deem it necessary. but not a system that can be abused or auto ban without some one being responsible and ultimately answerable for their actions and decision to ban.

    • They def need to do smth to clean this forum up but i dont think we the users should be the ones to do it. The system ur suggesting will be misused and abused. People get to bent outta shape about all kinds of things. People will post helpful and positive stuff that people wont like and then they will be down voted for the wrong reasons. Bungie needs to step up and use some of our hard earned money to hire forum mods. That the only way things will get done the right way.

    • Freedom of speech, yeah sure, but verbal and sexual harassment is STILL against the law. Plenty of verbal harassment on these forums. PLUS Bungie can enforce ANY rules they want. It's THEIR website. For example, at Disney they control what you wear, drink (only water), do with your body (no tattoos, nose rings, etc.), etc. my aunt never liked working there too much. Debating opinions and facts are fine, the needless insults need to go.

      • If this -5 and you're muted automatically system were real, any time someone didn't like what someone said they'd be gone. Don't like Longface's satire? GONE Not a fan of Deej's update posts? GONE Someone bad mouths a class you love? GONE Rarely would that be used appropriately. I believe a dislike feature should be allowed, and if a player received a particularly high number of down votes it triggers the system and a mod or Bungie staff reviews the player's posts to decide on a temp mute or ban depending on how often they are found doing things like spamming or cussing people out.

        • Think a temp ban is a bit extreme. Can't stop people from expressing there opinions... Unfortunately :p . But a certain amount of down votes could leave a mark on their account as "unfriendly" or something .
