Question.
Why are some of you 30s threatened by iron banner gear? Why is cheesing the VOG better than actually winning in PvP? Is it because people can actually get to 30 AND have to be good at PvP (because many thirties are terrible at it)? Or is it something else.
Ultimately, there isn't any reason to hate on 30s with IB gear. It looks better than the raid gear. that's for sure.
EDIT: So many of you have answered me with a wealth of knowledge. Most of you have given a fair and solid answer. Some people who are only a high level due to IB gear say they are experienced in the raid, but in fact, they are terrible and uneducated on how to complete the raid.
There are two things. lvl 30 raiders who feel as though they are superior because they run the raid three times a week and then wait merely because they have to wait longer than people did for IB gear. Then, there are the IB 30's and 29's that lie about their raid experience and drag their team down.
Seriously? Why lie about your raid experience? Are your egos so deflated you need to boast about how you're "A pro at the raid"? If you say "I've never Done the raid" your group will direct you what to do.
Also, The 30's who think they are better than the rest or every "fake" 30 they see you are just as bad. Self esteem needs a boosts by believing you are better. Terrible. Also, no you aren't that good. Last night, a couple buddies of mine played skirmish with a team of all 30's with 100% raid gear and weapons. We DESTROYED them. 10000 to 2400. Raiding does not make you superior in any way.
If someone is lying about raid experience that's on them. If someone cheeses the raid, that's on them. Not on all of us.

1 ReplyI have been a 29 for a very long time using normal legendary gear and one exotic. When IB started for the second time i put everything into it so i could get the gloves and boots. Reached level 5 and even got all the weapons except for the machine gun. I wasn't even that bad with an avarage of 1.5 to 1.8 k/d. So now the only thing missing was a helmet or chest. So i went into the hard raid and gotten a helmet on the first try together with the vex. It took so little effort compared to the IB that i was just laughing like did this really hapen? It was just pure luck with little skill. So now i am a level 30 and i have to say i would gladly do every IB to get the highest light level instead of raids. The IB only takes skill to get you your rewards and that is the reason i know so many people who backed out when they couldn't handle it. So there is what i think is the real meaning of "earning". I would gladly see a system where pve and pvp allows you to reach the same end game gear but with different looks and stats.

1 ReplyEdited by PodgerCakes YUM: 11/30/2014 11:26:12 AMI stopped caring when I got all 3 classes lvl 30 like 4 weeks ago.

4 RepliesWhen losing 5 games in a row and winning a 6th is virtually equal to winning 6 in a row, your game mode is not difficult. Atleast for me personally, it took over 15 completions on my warlock to achieve raid boots. That's a minimum of 8 weeks of loot drops. That's longer than 1 week.
-
it's sexy in black and white it drops me to 28 but I don't care don't feel like farming and I haven't even upgraded the gear for my other two characters lol
-
I don't know anyone that is upset about it. It's not like it made a difference during Iron Banner considering you would have to collect the gear and level it. You would be in Iron Banner with whatever gear you had level'd before.
-
2 RepliesI prefer IB over raid gear to be honest, not through how you earn it but it has more useful perks for my play style. It just doesn't have the raid friendly perk (because obviously it's not raid armour derp)

1 ReplyEdited by RaZe: 11/30/2014 4:34:30 AMHow do you have a RED GHOST!!!!

1 ReplyVault gear IS better than IB gear. Aestetics are opinion. After patch you honestly have to earn both sets and its a toss up which set is harder to aquire. Vault gear is RNG. you could have bad luck, work yourself to the brink of death and NEVER get it. Or get it all in a couple weeks. IB gear you HAVE to work your ass off, but its guaranteed done in 3 to 6 days. No reason to hate anyone with IB gear, whoever does is an obvious neckbeard. Rockin IB guantlets right now! They look awesome ;)

2 RepliesI'm not level 30, I'm level 29, but all the level 30 IB gear was the same as the raid gear I already had so it wouldn't have benefitted from it or been hurt by it either way
-
9 RepliesDon't have ib gear, have a better k-d over everyone on this thread..
-
2 RepliesThey're just mad they don't have an iron regalia chest piece, one of the rarest pieces to come across
-
I was a 29 for a long time (I only got all the chest pieces and some weapons from the VoG) and I got to 30 thanks to the IB. I'm playing better than other 30's with raid gear like kills in the VoG. I do think players with IB gear are better because they need to be more flexible. They both play PVE and PVP.
-
Idk where you have been because no one cheeses the VOG anymore. Well all the groups I have been in. Only cheesed 2 times before the patch and never got crap from it. Legit all the way now.

1 ReplyI wear raid boots for the raid, banner boots in crucible and my Pumas on the dance floor.
-
Some people like PvP others like co-op . Some like IB gear others VOG it's called variety. There's a little something for everyone in this game. It's what makes it fun. The bitching by players ... That's just annoying.

2 RepliesEdited by z3473501: 11/30/2014 12:28:18 PMThe more level 30s the better. In crucible, level doesn't matter. In PVE, it's beneficial. Just insecure gamers who don't amount to much irl scared that their e-paynus won't appear as big as before that are whining.
-
I have a restraining order against iron banner boots. They've been threatening to kick my *** and the courts agree they are a clear and present danger!
-
the only people I hate are IB 30's who walk into Hard raid thinking they don't need to tell people they have never done it before because they are 30, and then die constantly and ruin it for everyone. Three times this week I had 30's come into the group and after dying admitted they had never done it on hard before. Can we at least get some kind of disclaimer. I'm fine teaching you but don't come in acting like you've got it down.
-
What I don't understand...is the best you can be is 29 and around 3/4 without doing raids. I have two characters at that point, one with ib boots and gloves, the other with raid boots and gloves, both flipping between using an exotic helm for the raid and leveling an exotic chest piece in case I pull a helmet before a chest in the raid. Regardless, you *can't* get to thirty without having done the raid once.
-
Didnt have to win in PvP to get the lvl 30 gear. I barely scored anything but still got to rank 5. Dont have an issue with how anyone got to 30, chances are they are better than me anyway.
-
tbh i think all the 30 armour looks awful
-
5 RepliesYou dont have to be good to get ib gear dumbass. Anyone that has the time to grind it out can get it. Same with vog, grinding if you arent lucky. so stfu with this stupid argument you insecure baby dick. As far as looks, yes its a matter of opinion, but ib gear looks horrible.
-
It's hideous gear....but w/e floats your pickle.
-
After multiple raids I never got any gear on titan so I lvled ib to get boots and gloves. Next day I raid and guess what I got?
boots and gloves but no chest or helm
-
I have raid and ib gear for my Titan. Ib gear looks better and has more balanced stats so I use that over the raid boots/gauntlets. There really is no difference both are level 30 and both are difficult to get without a good team.

Edited by doublesit: 11/30/2014 10:09:07 AMjust got the IB boots to get a more equal distribution over intelligence, discipline and strenth on my Titan
