It's funny how you guys ask for a proximity chat but really never use it. Especially during Tiger strikes and Skirmish matches. Majority of you guys go around threads ranting about the lack of communication in Destiny. In retrospect, what a waste of Bungie's time. I -blam!-ing hate you guys. Seriously this community does not want to make me play this game anymore. Lets be serious here, if the only excuse was you guys didn't want to hear 10 year olds screaming in the mic you might as well never should had ask for a proximity chat in the first place.
http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/66500936 Old popular forum thread. Majority of players wanted a voice chat, yet nobody uses it.
edit: I understand people who didn't want a voice chat in the first place. As I said you have your reasons. I think it'll be interesting if anybody who wanted a proximity chat in the first place would comment in this thread, so I can at least understand why. So I can sleep tonight.

So you've played with all the people on here during tiger strikes and skirmish who asked for proximity chat ? i highly doubt it. The forums only count for a minority of the people on the game. I have seen many people use it and the odd times, i have used it myself.
-
If there's one thing you'll learn about humanity my friend. It's this, we will constantly ask for things that we have no need for or do not use. There is no reason to this madness, it just exists.
-
Get over yourself OP, no one wants to talk to you
-
Its probably because a lot of people are too used to not talking to each other and give in on hoping they won't mess up during strikes and what nots. I mean its been 2 month since the game's released and during that time how many people have over 100 hours of gameplay? We're used to not talking to each other.
-
never asked for it. i laugh at people who enter the chat in the tower and continue talking to my psn party.
-
i personally never asked for it. Me and a buddy have to use parties so he can here me vs the game... but that's irrelevant. I do however leave it set to automatically join team chat when i am alone. I have only ever had one person using it so far, and all i heard out of it was when they took a deep breath. I dont personally use a mic when i am alone though, if there was someone i was playing with who needed the added help of using it. i'll grab it. otherwise i will just keep silent
-
No one uses it because no one uses it.
-
I've always used party chat cause I generally only play with my clan mates. If not I'm alone and I don't care to talk to anyone. Everyone in my clan I know in RL so that makes it normal everyday. I've never cared for voice chat. I'm glad I can't talk to the other team in PvP, its one of the reasons I stopped playing COD I couldnt stand the constant never ending shitt talking. Even without chat we all knew when to do certain things we revived eachother without even thinking of it. Sure it can come in handy in skirmish when the 3rd guy doeant take a hint to stay together but other than that I have zero use for in game chat.
-
One of the worst community I experienced. Such a burden to this game.
-
The minority wanted chat the majority of players don't come on these forums, most of us have already worked around the chat by forming clans and using party chat. There chat system was to late IMO. Bug fixes should be there priority
-
Never use it anymore because of the annoying 13 year old kids screaming when they die, for a tiger strike you shouldn't have to use chats, other hard stuff I understand
-
"Majority of players"? What majority... of people who post here? I would not call that a majority. It is barely enough to call a minority.
-
Never asked for this cause it was a torture in World of Tanks to hear someone with a dog or the angry moms in the background (but it was funny when a guy left a battle to fakk his GF and forgot to turn of the Mic, the whole group laughed hard). And sometimes it seems that some people only have a headset made in 1945. You know the old Radios... I am always in a Party with my friends. But it seems that Microsoft really wants us to buy the One cause the Party crashes more often. I won´t until Tomb Raider and maybe a good looking Edition.
-
Really? That's what the headsets for *facepalm* I thought it was to keep my ears warm.
-
I didn't ask for proximity chat, i'd prefer they fix atheon and weapons. But I'm not yelling loud enough like most people in the minority so it apparently gets over looked.

I always used party chat or Skype anyways lol
