I've finally come to enjoy PvP in Destiny, I feel like me vs someone else comes down to skill in any situation regardless of weapon, including fusion rifles.
I don't mind being 1-hit killed by a shotgun in PvP, when it only happens maybe 2-3 times an entire match, but when it happens like 10-15 times in some matches, I completely lose interest in continuing and just turn my Ps4 off completely, not in rage, but it ruins the fun factor, and I want to find something else to do.
So my suggestions for fixing it; making shotguns have their extended range back, but make it so that it takes 2-3 shots to kill someone instead of 1, unless they are good enough to aim perfectly at the head up close? Rather than a one hit kill body shot, anyone else agree?

Nope. PVP is ok the way it is. It's not like you couldn't get a shotgun. If you don't like them or feel cheap for using them it's not everybody else's problem. Also how would that be fair against fusion rifles with there ridiculous range or Ahole snipers who never capture a point and just sit at the back of the map hard scoping.

I personally think shotguns are terrible. Anyone being consistently killed by shotgun noobs are terrible as well. Create some separation and just laugh at them as they keel over.

Shotguns are fine as they are. Making them a 2 hit kill would make them completely worthless. They dominate in close quarters, but they're supposed to. If you aren't using one, adjust your tactics so you aren't going up against them at close range.

You just have to be aware of your surroundings and the strength of your load out. They function appropriately.

1 ReplyI think shotguns operate appropriately. I would blame map layout more than the gun. Most maps wind up funneling all players into one close quarters area where shotguns are one of the top options. More open map design would make other specials much more viable. Take that moon map for example. I see very few shotguns on that map.
