While all the others I feel are self-explanatory, I will explain why I feel Digital Downloads and Pre-Loading is wrong IMHO. The convenience is great that's obvious what may not be is it is not as competitively priced if they have a captive market, competition is good. Used game market will also die.
There may be others I have have missed or couldn't fit in, so please feel free to list other concerns you have if I have not included them or comment on the poll options above if you want.
Edit: [b]Dishonourable mentions
Pre-orders & Day 1DLC
Split screen not being included as standard.
Renting servers

The problem with the industry has to do a lot with the consumers. I used to be just as guilty about it as anyone else... We spoke with our money and now the industry is taking advantage of us. Preorders used to actually make sure that you had a game the day it was released. There hasn't been a game in recent history that I couldn't buy somewhere day 1 without preordering.
-
When you say Paid DLC you mean Disk Locked Content?
-
All of the above
-
Even after all of these years, companies are refusing to learn from Half-Life
-
How is pre ordering not winning? It's the reason all of these problems exist. The developers make there money before the game is done, then they get lazy. Boom! All your problems
-
All of the above definitely.
-
False advertising
-
All of the above.
-
Why not all of the above? Each are equally egregious in their own right... If you made me pick though I'd go with always online. Gouges entirely too much effin money out of people.
-
Mmorpgs

Honestly, one of the things that bothers me the most is lack of split screen games. It kind of sick that when I am home on break I can't play destiny or titanfall with my brother unless we use separate consoles.
-
I honestly believe that always online games will be the end if us all
-
Buy physical copies so if they turn out like destiny you can trade them in -blam!- you -blam!-

Many of these problems are solved simply by making a good and proper game, the only reason people are mad about things like payed dlc and pre orders is because recently companies have been doing these things badly. When borderlands two came out no one started saying how pre orders where killing the gaming industry or how payed dlc was a rip off because their game worked, the dlc was actually all new stuff (not something that should have been part of the game in the first place). People dont complain about pre ordering or buying dlc for nintendo games, the simple reason is because they are done right, their games work when they release and their dlc is reasonably priced and not stuff that should have been in the game in the first place (example would be mario kart for the wiiu). Many of the things people complain about now a days are things that are meant to help the gaming industry such as being able to fix things after the game has shipped, an example of this being good is in the case of the new smash brothers it has allowed for some balancing issues to be fixed, which got past testing (brawl had these but they could not be fixed instead certain characters were just banned from being used in tournaments). Pre ordering allows for the game developers to judge how many copies of the game they need to make, this can be especially helpful for those with online games because it lets them see how much traffic their servers are going to get day one, so they can be pre pared. These are great tools in the gaming world but a few have taken advantage of them and have given them a bad name and reputation for everyone. Blame the companies that do it wrong not the tools themselves.

*insert feminist voice* I think violence is a very concerning video game trend that us making the youth of today more violent than ever! That's why I only let my two bisexual children, lizzy (8) and shalaquandra (5) play cooking mama and leapfrog.

I want to click all of them ;(

Nice topic Winter. Things been trending at the top since Dec. 30 2014.
that's like last year! Lol
-
Releasing unfinished games yet charging exuberant prices should be a crime. It's like theft. So yeah, that's nmy most hated recent/not-so-recent trend. Microtransactions and paying to win are also terrible.
-
All of those things except the last one
-
All of those, plus mmorpgs
-
I'd like a finished game before anything else... Otherwise everything else is useless.
-
Over excessive micro transactions.*cough cough candycrushsaga cough cough*
-
When stuff is already on the disk, yet we must pay for it to be unlocked as DLC
-
Destiny has changed the way I buy games. I will no longer preorder games. the bonuses are negligible in my opinion. I'm hype proof
-
I don't like seeing Micro-transactions in a 60$ game. Unacceptable cash grab
