I was just kicked for being too young
I was playing the Vault of Glass with some people, and I realized they were Iron Banner 30s. I didn't mention it, but then we got to the gatekeepers. 3 People died every time on the first portal outside. After a few times, I asked them how that was possible, and one instantly started hating on me. He called me a squeaker because I am 13 and haven't hit puberty. We were doing perfect in the raid and we were all laughing at some point. I told him to shut up and he told me,"Sorry, I can't play with someone as young and bad as you." And he booted me. I mean WTF?? We went through it as a team and he ended it there. Why is the community so rude?
Edit 1: We were playing NORMAL with five 30s and one 29, the 29 with me and another 30 in the portal.
Edit 2: Okay, I deleted "fake" because that isn't true, you are correct. They just got 30 a different way than me and have less experience with the raid.
Edit 3: These responses are overwhelming! Was gonna reply and give my thoughts to all of them, but there is no way I can now!

I used to play with a squeaker on Borderlands 2 quite often, who was quite good. And well, my brother had an exceptionally long squeak phase so I sympathize with you guys, lol. That said, don't say that fake 30 bit on mic. There are only good and bad players. fake this or that is stupid

5 Repliesmy condolences. i loll'ed at the "fake" comment, but theres way more "fake" level 30's who only raid. in my opinion, the new players that we have to look out for are not the inexperienced, arrogant newcomers to the vault... its the elitist, experienced, end-game level 30's that own the world.

First of all, 30 is 30. You do more damage, take less damage. Skill is what matters, you all sounds like a bunch of retards (you and that team) but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because you're only 13. I've met some people line that, most of us, Who aren't dick heads don't care how you got 30, and how old you are. Just bring your a game and max weapons.

I have booted young kids from my lobby pre-game before. Not at the end of the raid though. I am playing videogames for one reason: enjoyment. And listening to an obnoxious voice for an hour plus is not enjoyment.

3 RepliesWhile kids can be annoying when they are yelling and cussing and acting macho I see no reason for this to happen if you're holding your own and acting normal. The.community these days for all online games is just immature. Its really sad, and rarely do games have good ones. I miss the days of EverQuest when everyone was nice and helpful. But now that people can jump in and jump out and find new groups easily, there is no incentive to be nice. The reporting system on Xbox one can kind of help with this, but for the most part I think people don't care about that either. Unfortunately the interwebs is a cesspool of immaturity and until people start to realize that an online community is just like any other with real people it won't change. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated, even on the internet where people can't see your face.

We came across some great guys last night who helped 3 newcomers finish the raid. Super patient as we worked to learn the jobs. On top of those guys - the guys who helped us over the weekend to get there. There are good folks in Destiny. Just keep looking.
