I was playing the Vault of Glass with some people, and I realized they were Iron Banner 30s. I didn't mention it, but then we got to the gatekeepers. 3 People died every time on the first portal outside. After a few times, I asked them how that was possible, and one instantly started hating on me. He called me a squeaker because I am 13 and haven't hit puberty. We were doing perfect in the raid and we were all laughing at some point. I told him to shut up and he told me,"Sorry, I can't play with someone as young and bad as you." And he booted me. I mean WTF?? We went through it as a team and he ended it there. Why is the community so rude?
Edit 1: We were playing NORMAL with five 30s and one 29, the 29 with me and another 30 in the portal.
Edit 2: Okay, I deleted "fake" because that isn't true, you are correct. They just got 30 a different way than me and have less experience with the raid.
Edit 3: These responses are overwhelming! Was gonna reply and give my thoughts to all of them, but there is no way I can now!

5 RepliesAge doesn't matter.. But Judging by your "fake 30" attitude and 2.26 raid KD... I think they were completely right in kicking you
-
3 RepliesI have a suggestion for u. Just stfu and wait a few years
-
4 RepliesNot condoning his actions but I can see where a 13 year old telling an adult to "shut up" might not go over well.
-
3 RepliesNot to call bull crap on your post, but why would five 30s be doing normal? I understand if they don't want the hard mode loot table on there, but a vast majority of people do hard mode for efficiency.

1 ReplyEveryone young that has played with me has just been annoying. I don't mind talking, but being chatty or excessively excited about being shot gets old fast. I've never kicked anyone for it, but they become a liability when half the team mutes them and we can no longer communicate. Skill and teamwork are both necessary, and a liability in either category will mean everyone else has to work harder.

2 RepliesI have booted kids who were 15 from raids BUT it was because they got really annoying and tried to talk shit. I have run with kids your age and honestly, most of them make my head hurt but I rarely kicked them cause it was not to bad. HOWEVER, if I hear swag and yolo and any other stupid crap more than once I will mute your ass in a heartbeat. If you keep dying, I will kick. The other issue I have come across is sometimes other kids around your age can get demanding. I remember helping a random kid who invited me in tower and asked me to help him in nightfall and I said sure man. 10 minutes in the nightfall we are at the last boss area(Was Archon priest with all burns week) he said "yo can we hurry it up?" I was thinking to myself, ok shrug it off hes just a kid" than he dies IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AREA WHILE THE BOSS IS OUT. In no way is he getting revived. I tell him to hold on I am gonna burn the boss down. His response "N-word get me up right now before I have to teach you a lesson" Really? Kicked from fire team, finished off the boss, got my thunderlord.

I've never been called out like that before mostly because I don't talk much except to correct instructions or if I have a talkative group. I've been made into a joke sometimes but I don't mind it. But that must suck to be kicked because of your voice.
-
And a 2.26 kd in the raid? Come on kid. Dont trick yourself into telling yourself your good
-
I had you in a group earlier. Before we kicked you before we started the raid you were very aggrivating. Saying stuff like "your mom" and other things. Get out of here kid. Btw we finished hard mode with 1 try for everything pretty much

The best advice is to move on and not get hung up on the small stuff. Go to destinylfg.net and look for a gatekeeper checkpoint.

What's that, 7th grade? I know what this is like, my voice didn't start getting deeper until I was almost 16. Made it tough to play world at war with randoms who refused to listen to someone inferior in age.

Edited by NiosBlue: 11/25/2014 11:05:02 PMReminds me in CoD how little kids destroy me in TDM ;-; Teach me you're ways!! :p

I don't play with kids from the start. Too many problems mostly. The annoyance and lack of direction taking is a problem. I'm not saying all of them are like that but enough to the point that I won't play with them. It's the same thing as playing with kinect mic users on the old xbox. More of an annoyance than a help.
-
1 ReplyWell I've played with youngsters a few times and there usually pretty damn good.. But the problem I have with it is, I feel restricted as far what I can say. I'm not disrespectful so I keep the conversation like im at work. And that's the problem I have when I play with teens. I work a full time job at a hospital. So when I'm on the game I like to get x rated cut loose shoot the shit with people. Let me add 88 percent of the time I've had some cool as people in my raids all fun times .What I'm basically saying is .... When entering a raid or nightfall with randoms get a feel for your crowd before you start running your mouth it helps big time

4 RepliesRespect. Learn it and then earn it. You don't ask a group who just died" how is that possible". You simply ask if they would like to switch and try out something else.
-
2 RepliesIt's funny when these old people listen to us on the mic and they think we suck but THEY SUCK
-
People get full of themselves and scapegoat people when their skills suck. I lead raid scoreboards and still get treated like shit cause I'm not tight with any of them. Matchmaking players are much cooler than clan people.
-
3 RepliesI only kick little kids if they're being annoying. •wasting rocket ammo on teammates •yelling •pushing people off the edge •asking questions I've already answered •not listening •being loud But then again, anybody has the potential to do any of these things. All in all, I just want a relaxed, mature fire team.
-
Well they suck dick and you should find a different raid crew... Honestly like don't waste your time on people who wipe on normal before atheon (besides gorgons)
-
I'm 13 and I end up with the best score of my teams in crucible, and I'm not even 29 or 30...
-
Yeee 13 year olds dominate everyone in this game
-
These guys sound out of line, but i have to admit i don't like the idea of playing with younger crowds. IF we're mic'd up. Immaturity has a bit to do with it, but the main reason is I'm an adult, mid thirties, call me old fashion, i have no reason to play with a teenager in the real world, no reason to play with a teen in the game. If I had children and found out my 13 year old was playing online with adults, who are drinking, talking about everything from (keeping it clean) girls to shooting the legionnaire in his Texas Heart while he was flying through the air... I would be pissed, and probably chew their ass and want to know why they think it is "ok" to talk like that and play with my teenager. I won't even play online with the my neighbors kids, Parents say its fine, but if they aren't playing with us then I'm out.
-
3 RepliesGarbage team. Its just a coincidence that they were wearing IB gear.
-
You should message me his name so it wouldn't be a name and shame, I want to "talk" to this asshole.
-
Grow up.

Having played MANY games with my brother who's 9years younger I don't have a problem playing with those younger than me. On the condition that they aren't overly annoying, which I'll let you know when it starts to get on my nerves. I don't bitch when it happens I just get quieter than normal and give short responses.
