I have gotten used to not talking to anyone in strikes. We tend to burn through strikes within 10 minutes, why bother talking? I assume we are all smart enough to solo the strikes and use sign language.
-
I dont know if it is really necessary in the Tower or Crucible (salvage or control being ok I guess). On Strikes, yeah it is good. But yeah, people tend to not opt into it. and dont think it should be auto on. the opt in idea is good.

Edited by Wretch1d: 11/25/2014 3:15:56 AMThe thing is a lot of people dont want to use it, we wanted random match making, at the end of the day i want to play Destiny, not talk to strangers who are probably half my age. The fact is we are all smart enough to play this game, Bungie just thinks we are all idiots
-
I use it every time. Though I'm getting demoralized with it since no one uses it. Gu's switch to team chat even if you don't have a mic. Can still get advice and know what is at C or whatever it may be.
-
I use it but no one talks
-
Don't need mic unless raiding, even then I could still get away with it as I just go to the position unfilled. Too lazy to reach for the mic tbh. Everything outside of the raid is done quick so no point
-
The overwhelming majority didn't ask for it that's why. If we wanted to talk, we'd party up.
-
Ask for it, but don't use it. Destiny community logic.
-
U can turn it on by default if u are running solo.
-
How do you use it in the tower? I hit back and it never gives me an option like it does in game.
-
I always have Cinemax on full blast at night. That's why I AFK strikes :) Two birds with one stone.

1 ReplyEdited by SeveN62ARMED: 11/25/2014 2:27:40 AMI don't use it because xbox doesn't let me. I've tried a new controller and a new headset. I can either talk and not hear, or hear and not talk. Next day off I gotta call up tech support and yell til it's fixed.
-
I set to auto, but don't use my mic at all times for various reasons. People that do talk need to be aware that others are listening so make it worth hearing.
-
There's voice chat in the tower

3 RepliesEdited by GalvatronVTS: 11/25/2014 1:55:32 AMBecause humanity sucks? If I want to hear someone spouting bullshit I'll follow politics, and if I want to hear racial slurs and sexist remarks I'll join the Neo -godwinslaw!-. After playing CS:S and CoD for years I know first hand just how limited the intellect of most gamers is. Edit : rofl Bungie. Awesome fix for that word, I love you.

1 ReplyEvery time I've used it the people in the Tower/Strike have been complete @holes... I don't need a bunch of kiddies playing rap, talking like retards and being annoying while I'm playing
-
2 RepliesI only use the mic during raid because you have too. Unless you are in my friends list, I don't want to talk to you.
-
Used it twice, first time I was listening to some guys collection of bad music, second time it was some child who was screaming when he died and then he asked if I could just kill the boss because he couldn't do it. Never again.
-
If im not in an xbox live party with someone , i consider myself as playing solo. When i play solo i listen to music on my phone with headphones and dont listen to game audio at all or anything. I dont really need to talk to anyone else unless i'm doing the raid or a weekly heroic/nightfall with them. Everything else doesnt require communication.
-
Cause who wants to hear random people during a strike? Voice chat should only be available during the raid. imo
-
If I am already in fireteam or Playstation chat, I don't join team chat
-
I use it but I have noticed no one else using it
-
1 ReplyIt wasn't a feature I was interested in before we had it, and I'm still not interested. I hate mic chatter & non-game-related background noise, unless the people are close friends of mine. I prefer in-game sounds only, even in raids, with the exception of the raid leader providing instruction. Plus, I get the urge to play music sometimes, and no one else needs to hear that.
-
If i'm not in a party playing with friends then I'm probably just doing bounties or material farming. I think the reason why everybody wanted it before was for finding raid groups and/or people to do the weekly strikes with. Now there are tons of forum posts and even websites dedicated to finding other players.
-
My choice is not there. It's because i'm in party chat with a friend of mine.

3 Replieswhy would i want to listen to rap music, screaming kids, squeakers, and people who are roid raging?
