So I thought this up while at work bored...Prison of Elders Event
It would introduce a survival gametype that required 6 people. You would have to defend the Prison of Elders from level 26-28 enemies, in 4 stages for 20 waves.
Stage 1
Defend the entrance for as long as possible. If the enemy is able to gain entry, you move to stage 2. (Note- It is possible for the a high ranking enemy to spawn and make a push, if killed you gain guard support.
Stage 2
Defend the entrance to a randomly designated hall, accompanied by some Awoken guards. If the enemy is able to open the door to your designated hall, then you move to stage 3.
Stage 3
Keep the enemy from releasing the prisoners. They will release them by section, with a total of 3. The fist 2 sections will hold majors/ultras. The last will hold a boss. This is your final chance to complete the mission before failing.
If you complete wave 20 at any stage, the mission is over and you will gain 100 rep and a random rewards. The rewards could include special level 30 event items, or whatever the level cap is at the time of the event. Getting to rank 5 and completing the mission will give you a 40% chance to receive an exotic event weapon.
This event would be about 2-4 weeks long and show up 3 times per year.
Ideas to add? Suggestions?

Destiny stikes me as a "Take no prisoners!" environment, but something similar would be refreshing (repel an assault on the wall/ Tower, for example) Maybe also widen the level window so less experienced players and groups could participate. (rewards should be scaled to player/group level in that case, a level 10 getting legendary or exotic rewards would probably really mess up the game balance)
