So despite all the controversy and issues, everyone agrees that the gunplay, graphics, design, music, and sound of Destiny are top notch. I was thinking about the academy awards for the game - certainly Destiny won't win for Best Director, Actor, or Original Screenplay, but it might well sweep the technical awards.
To that end, let's do Sound Design. What is the best sound effect in Destiny?
I have many nominees, but one that I just love is the "charge down" sound for fusion rifles if you charge up but don't fire. Judders down like a massive growling engine.
What have you got?
EDIT: Great feedback! Some clear winners in here and a bunch I didn't know about. DeeJ should send this on to the Bungie sound team.

'Guardian down'
-
Female character taking damage...hawt.
-
I like the sound of incoming rounds as they zip past.
-
Definitely not the thrill. They sound like screaming banshees, or women on PMS. Next runner up would be the Suros firing sound that sucks. I know, not the best but could only think of the worse.
-
The devil you know shooting
-
Somebody made this with exactly what your talking about.
-
Thunderlord's firing mechanism sounds. When it's firing and cooling down. Oh my god it's just incredible I got it today from the Nightfall.
-
Cabal head shots. Love it.
-
When Spekis Prime (whatever the big ball from the Devils Lair is called) dies.
-
The noises the Vex make when they attack. They sound like robot birds or dinosaurs
-
The sound of a bladedancer activating his cheese, followed by the sound everyone nearby's backsides preparing for knife entry. Muahahaha
-
The oh so satisfying sound of rounds leaving a heavy machine gun. Especially the slow firing ones like The Swarm. That thump thump tump is incredibly enjoyable
-
SHOULDER CHARGE
-
nothing beats the sound of a precise sniper/Hawkmoon kill.
-
That new shadow price sound. I like it!

Edited by Circadian Wolf: 11/20/2014 9:14:16 PMI like the way the enemies sound, fallen have their cool alien language, the vex shriek like they're speaking in binary and the cabal sound very big and brutish. Sparrows at full pelt also sound cool.

The new hive ship sound is sweet

Edited by Rokon: 11/20/2014 9:07:11 PMProbably a Sparrow's Boost, Ice Breaker gunfire, or a Ketch. Smaller details I like include footsteps, as they feel unique to the ground they're on (nobody likes hearing grass footsteps on a metal building indoors.) Also, I think Atheon itself makes interesting sounds. Also, the sweet sound of the Thunderlord spitting out bolts of lightning like a boss makes me giddy as a schoolgirl.

First time I heard P&T explode in my ears I thought, "Yup, this is what a shoulder cannon should sound like". LOVE that thing. :D

Patience and time shot? Pop
-
Upgraded sparrow when using hand brake.. 'pshvoom pshvoom' so dope
-
When the sparrow is winding up to full speed. Or when the minotaurs goes ape $&@? On you and teleport 10 times to move 2 feet
-
The sound of a fusion rifle charging. Tells me whether I'm going to have a fun match, or a terrible one.

Multitool shooting

Tess's Voice. Oh, my beautiful Awoken Princess.
