Forum Ninja application?

A random idea popped into my head earlier, and I thought I would share it with everyone. What if there was a Forum Ninja application that you could fill out in order to be considered to be a Forum Ninja? The way it could work would be that there would be certain requirements (account age, bans/warnings, title/prefix, etc.) that you would have to meet in order to be able to fill out the application; the requirements wouldn't be known by the general public though. Maybe the application could be on the HFCS homepage and whoever currently decides who gets to be a Forum Ninja gets to go through the applications. I just thought that this would be a great way to get new Forum Ninjas when they're needed, but it's overall just a random idea that I had. Do you have any thoughts about this? Edit: To clarify some things, you wouldn't be able to even get to the application if you didn't meet the requirements, and the requirements would be strict enough that there wouldn't be a huge list of applications. As far as what wold be in the application, there could be multiple choice questions that would include certain situations in which you would have to decide what you would do. •
Posted by: OMARRCHR
Posted by: EvilTaffyapple Op - whilst I like this idea in principle, it would further add to the e-peen show-and-tell that the internet suffers from already. I've met members on here with 5+ year accounts trolling newbies... I've seen accounts with less than 1 year posting helpful / funny / community spirited posts that would have my vote hands down to be a Ninja. At the end of the day, the current system works. The Ninja's know what sort of person could make a good forum moderator - sifting applications isn't the right way to approach this. /my 2 cents.
I can see what you mean, but I just don't think people like that get noticed as much as the people with the flashy titles and the high post per day ratios; that's where an application system would come in handy. I can't accurately say what kind of requirements an application like this should have since I don't really know the specifics of how the current system works, but I know that the requirements should probably be strict enough so that there won't be an overwhelming amount of applications to go through.
But that's my point exactly - at the end of the day, we are all accessed on out usernames and the title bars next to it. This shouldn't be the case, and I'm pretty sure the forum moderators have a system in place that already supercedes anything that we can suggest. I doubt Foman or Old Papa Rich actively recruit blue-bar memebers as a priority. This would restrict the type of Ninja they are recruiting, and I'm sure they would prefer a wider-range of Ninja's than this allows. I know a lot of people on here seem to actively want to be a Ninja, and see it as a badge of office, but I'm sure the amount of work they put into the role, along with the amount of rubbish they get involved in with certain members, would actually dissuade potential applicants if they knew the full extent of the position.
