It's either according to Websters. The I being short or long doesn't matter.

Real 28 - In Britain many pronounce it Mine - Oh - Tour, Min - Oh - Tour just doesn't fit some dialect and or regional accents. The I is indeed either long or short. Have a great day guys!

I think that's why they explicitly not ate that both ways of saying it are correct. I am from Ohio USA and I say Min, not mine. But I've heard mine used.
