these doctors were paid by the lobbyists in the lumber industry to make these claims because hemp is a viable alternative to lumber and more cost efficient and "green"

>Hemp has been legal in Canada since 1998 >Canadian doctors also oppose marijuana legalization

because they export their lumber to the US and make tons of money if they were to export hemp when it is legalized in the US their lumber industry would lose money too follow the paper trail (pun intended times infinity)

Also, just gonna throw this out there, doctors get in big trouble from accepting bribes from private organizations like Big Pharma. There are strict controls to make sure they are not bought off by the private sector. I've read a chairman of Psychiatry at Emory University lost his chairmanship just because he told the university that he did not tell the university how much money he was getting paid by the corporation.

so what? they can receive bribes and warp the evidence to reflect the needs of the party of interest
-
No the doctors can't receive bribes. If a doctor is found of receiving a bribe, he gets in big trouble. Any Pharma company (or other private sector industry) can get sued for that. And again, if you don't believe me, ask the resident doctor on this site, Bobcast, he'll tell you the same thing.

See, if hemp were as useful as you said it was, in Canada, we would be using it more often.... Also my point is, you can legalize hemp without legalizing weed. In fact, some medical organizations here in Canada are trying to make medical marijuana illegal again; no one is talking about banning hemp.

hemp is made from the fibers of the cannabis plant and the part that gets you "high" is the leaves and seeds you cant smoke hemp and get high because the chemicals are either destroyed in the manufacturing process or negligible to detect much less get high off of. hemp is useful and so is bamboo and some parts of the US have federal regulations against bamboo because of the fast growing nature and uses it has the lumber industry is powerful and will knock down any competition it sees as a threat to its bottom line the reason you dont see it used more often is because the lumber industry usually buys out the small hemp manufacturers to shut them down or to acquire their license and make the product themselves

Alright, but no organization here is against the legalization of hemp; even though they are against marijuana legalization. And I repeat my point (and if you don't believe me---ask the resident doctor forum ninja Bobcast) it is extremely illegal for a doctor or medical organization to be bought out by the private sector; it is illegal and doctors can lose their jobs over that.
