It was made to encourage people to try out different classes, or 3 same ones, either way, is to increase the replayability. Remember that first lv30 hunter guy? Bungie complimented him here in the forum and even mentioned that he made 3 hunters to achieve that. Why would bungie made that an example? Think about it, it will only do good to the game. And you just have to get used to the mechanics. Make 3 char if u have time. Don't think about how much others are gaining but yourself. Just have fun.
