Raids, Weekly Nightfalls, Heroics, they are all far from impossible to complete "legitimately." If you seriously cant complete the raid or the infamous Phogath encounter without some sort of exploit, then you are not good at video games to be honest. Using the game mechanics (jumping, invisibility, gun types, grenades, supers, grouping, ....) gives you all the tools you need and more. If the game wasn't challenging, what would be the point. It's pretty ridiculous that people are throwing fits about Atheon cheese getting patched, but even more so, the random teleporting. The endgame material, at least in my opinion, should present a CHALLENGE. That being said, if there is an exploit in the game, I will most likely utilize it. If it provides a quick, easy way to do something then I'm all for it, but you won't see me whining when it gets patched because it is obviously not supposed to be in the game.

 • A case can be made that random teleportations in Atheon's fight is an arbitrarily useless change. Many groups had splits that had specific jobs already. Perhaps someone does better defending the portals than killing oracles. A team could easily form teams to fulfill specific roles. Instead, the nature of random teleports is simply meant to shake up those teams for no real reason. The thing that irritates me the most though? The fact that they called his selecting the 3 players who were furthest from him a "bug"... when it was so obviously intentional design. The entire encounter is set up as a puzzle. You would use knowledge to defeat your enemies, and this is one of the things that made that fight so amazing compared to the standard bullet sponges found in every other part of the game. Arguably, adding random elements to such encounters requires all players to be proficient in all circumstances, which I think serves to disrupt communication and teamwork as a few players' weaknesses may bring the entire team down, rather than being able to strictly play off of those players' strengths.

 • Sure, the pre-patch Atheon encounter gave a sense of role-related responsible which was virtually absent in every other corner of the game, but after a couple runs sticking to your respective comfortable role, the fight simply becomes too easy. As previously stated, I do believe that the endgame event (one which can only reward twice per week) should be significantly challenging, frustrated, and rewarding. Yes, the previous mechanic was obviously not a "bug". This frustrated me only because Bungie doesn't tell it like it is, not the change itself. One could state that Bungie is punishing us for acquiring all of our sexy exotic gear from an exploit and not via blood, sweat, tears, and hours of attempts. In any case, this change demands a skillset and coordination that is ESSENTIAL to exit the Vault victorious. I'm not complaining.

 • I have zero issues with the Atheon being pushed off the ledge being patched. That is an exploit. But getting rid of the "sniper perches" seemed weak to me. I guess I'm a bad gamer based on your description above, but I need to use my physical surroundings for cover and to a high degree like this in order to beat my enemy in Nightfall.
