My theory was that at some point class items would generate element shields like many of our enemies do (arc, void, sun)

  • I really hope they bring elemental shields into the mix at some point - regardless if they become part of class items or not.

  • Well not just in pve because in pvp it would balance the game out xD think about it: people would have to use weapons with different elements to be ready for anything that would include their own granade and melee to break em. So normally shotgun 1 shots you up-close but with element shield if the shotgun is arc and I have a sun shield I would take the hit and just have my shield broken at most then they have to melee me to finish me off. Pvp wise it wouldn't be a drastic change but it make confrontations last a bit longer and make people have diversed weapon sets based on the subclass they use, the map layout, and the weapons that have the type of element damage they may need https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/79175871/0/0

  • that would be good for pve and bad for pvp. if a player mostly plays VOG, he would specialize in void damage weapons. If you had an arc shield, you would resist the damage making it much more difficult to take down the shield. On the other hand, and arc or solar shield would help ALOT on VOG.

  • Well lets be honest. In pvp it would make people take variable element weapons and that would mean weapons switching and having multiple element weapons would be necessary! Not to mention it wouldn't be unfair in pvp if everyone had it lol what would make it even more fun is that people wouldn't stick to 1 or 2 weapons. Instead it be sets of weapon combinations depending on map or if most opponents in that round have a certain color shields you may want certain weapons equipped instead of the OP ones
