With every new exotic that Xur sells, that piece loses its individualistic value. 2nd week of Desting I got truth from an engram, keep in mind this was pre-patch so the chances were even smaller for me to get something good out of it. Now, it seems it's just all to easy to get them; just wait for Xur.
It's ridiculous, the item's he sells need to be more difficult to get, or there need to more exotics. Why else are there people bragging about having almost every exotic just one month after release?
I really appreciate the maturity expressed in the comments. Apparently none of you have the desire to make your character act and look unique, which is my primary point to this post. I wasn't looking to whine and complain like the majority of you think. Before jumping to offensive conclusions, perhaps consider my perspective, from one who is accustomed to extensive customization in MMO'S.
I would really appreciate you keep your offensive comments to yourself. I'm just looking for other opinions. This community is better than that (I hope). Let's keep it mature.
Keep in mind guys, I'm referring to the scarcity of these items, not their effects, their stats or the superiority of those who earn vs. those who don't.
Edit: to avoid the continuation of comments suggesting my retardism amongst other undesirable qualities, I understand the counter argument that's been so eloquently presented to me like 40 times. No need to continue bashing me with hateful slurs for having an opinion that did differ.

2 RepliesThe game ruined it. You honestly get them too easy. There should be 3 separate groups of exotics. 1 from drips, one from Xur, and 1 for bounties. They should be SEPARATE!! This way you don't get everything so fast.
-
Just another "I am not special in real life and now I am not special here either".
-
2 RepliesHe is ruining it for now yes. But in the next dlc a new weapon class "epic" will be introduced.
-
I agree
-
You're preaching maturity, yet you created a forum post specifically to generalize any person teabagging/wearing the teabag emblem as "immature" and "a sixty dollar irritation". And god almighty, please do not try and say you made that post because you were actually curious to know why people use that emblem, because everyone and their mothers knows that is complete garbage.

I've mentioned this to people, too but only got crap thrown back at me for saying it.

Edited by BlueSKAdo: 10/26/2014 7:27:33 PMIve heard rumors of a new super class which will be more limited than exotics in any case I'm happy with my 17 exotics ive played over 240 hrs to get whether through engrams l&f bounties or xur i worked for them thru hours of strikes and raid and crucible to me even if im not the only one i know with the last word in a few weeks it makes no difference and im glad i bought armamentium and voidvestible and ice breaker and truth and suros regime and i hope to either find win or buy ghallahorn in the near future in any case i feel i earned everything i have including my 30+ legendary pieces and mythoclast and my three timebreakers and all my legendary ships and i hope everyone who also has similar gear has enjoyed playing the game and earning it as well also i often play the raid for free because i enjoy hearing ppl spout with joy when they get a piece of armor or a new weapon. one who is at peace with the self is at peace with the world

No RNG ruins it. I am only missing 5 exotic weapons and I've only bought 2 from Xur.
-
Value? There is no economy, no trading. Items do not hold value.
-
I believe he's more of a game balancer. To me it's unfair if a select few people can get the best weapons in the game, while if you're like me, you'll get lucky to see a legendary engram in the first place
-
I don't mind Xur really, but I do think that the exotics he sells are a bit on the cheap side.
-
If you delete your exotics you'll increase the individual value of all the others. You, and all those of a like mind, should do so in order to preserve the value of exotics.
-
1 Replyyou know you sound like one of them "earner" folks, and well whatever to that nonsensical crazy group of thinkers. You earn strange coins and you spend them on exotics, okay yeah thats easy, but i dont see how finishing a crucible, or strike and getting an exotic by random chance is earning. and as far as value goes, you can have all the exotics you want, but they dont mean shit to me less you got the skill to actually make them worth an ounce of their 1's and 0's. you want your exotics to have worth, get good kid, and they will have worth, also stop crying.
-
Xur only sells a select few weapons. 6 days gameplay to finally get Hawkmoon, most people will never play that same. Xur gives the very average player a chance to get some exotics. I see no problem with it.
-
Edited by Kiba: 10/26/2014 6:59:26 PMShitty exotics are ruining the value of exotics. Cry more.
-
My friends and I only just scrape though the weekly strikes , we earn those coins . you get a lucky drop
-
I think xur should lower the price of primary's!! 23 coins for the suros was way to much, I spent a lot of time earning my coins. Also I think he should carry two guns at least.....one gun isn't enough
-
2 RepliesI think Xûr should stay, but the prices of the Exotics he sells should be increased significantly. To complement this change, there should be more opportunities to earn Strange Coins, not just from the Weekly Heroic Strike or RNG. For example, new bounties (both PvP and PvE) can be included which award Strange Coins, but they should be very difficult to complete. Exotics should be difficult to get, but since the only other way to get them is through RNG, Xûr should stay.
-
All that I read is that depending upon the RNG for your exotics is the only way to "earn" your gear and that any other methods outside of the RNG is not earning it. I guess that finding that $20 bill in the parking lot was earning it whereas working for 8+ hours @ $10/hour is not earning your pay. Whatever man. To each their own. If my post is incoherent, then it is because I'm responding while intoxicated. I apologise for responding while under such a condition.

2 RepliesTime to understand that exotic gear is meant for everyone. The best gear is raid gear and you still have to go trough some trouble to get that.
-
Its just another way to earn exotic gear. Maybe it the mentality that you have about you that makes you feel so cheated when someone else can have what you have. Look at the end of the day when you turn of the game, does it really matter that more than one person has what you have? No.
-
You do know that exotic means different, not rare? Compared to all of the legendary, rare, and uncommon weapons they are different, and even few in quantity. I'd like to hear your explanation why exotics should be scarce among players because it sounds like unwarranted self importance.
-
I've said it once before and I'll say it again. Xur is NECESSARY. If the loot in your game is 100% RANDOM, then you need a guaranteed way of getting high end gear. The way it SHOULD work is that you go after specific bosses enough times until they drop a certain piece of loot associated with them (look at every MMO ever made in the existence of mankind). But that's not the case. It's literally 100% random chance. And yes people have gotten exotics off of PvP and strikes, but it wasn't earned, it wasn't because they did it enough, the game just happened to flip the right coin that one time regardless of any other factors. So as long as the loot system is entirely by chance, you need to have ONE means by which players have tangible access to end game loot, and that is Xur.
-
Agreed , glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this
-
Value? In a game with no trade system? Who cares if someone else has your arm-mounted thunderdeath cannon which fires shurikens and lightning? It just means more shurikens and lightning heading for your enemies when you buddy up for VoG. Calm your tits.
