More people use opiates, benzodiazepines and narcotics than people who smoke weed. It's like saying alcohol is worse than heroine. More people drink alcohol than shoot up heroine, hence more people suffer negative effects. Also, all those prescription pill overdoses are when addicts hoard their bills and go over the standardized dosage. It is avoidable if you listen properly to the doctor.

It's illegal for a doctor to give Valium to someone who does not need it. No, alcohol and tobacco kill way more than prescription meds. Weed has 50-70 percent more carcinogens than tobacco, all the cancer societies are all in agreement there is a definite link between smoking weed and cancer. If you took away prescription meds, it would harm society. The minority that abuse prescription meds, would be offset by the vast majority of sick people who need these pills to live. The American Psychiatric Association President recently wrote about this: Without medication, society will be forced back to the dark ages. Without tobacco industry, millions of dollars in health care costs would be avoided. Again, doctors who prescribe Valium for no reason, they are fired (I know one who shot himself after the other doctors figured out what he was up to). There are rules against this, most doctors don't do it because they aren't stupid enough to break the rules.

For Christ's sake, it can probably cause cancer, because it has more carcinogens than tobacco, It can trigger mental illness, ruining lives. Prescription meds are going to stay because, idiot, Valium prevents bipolar patients from becoming manic. Legalizing weed is illegal, if the doctors give legal weed a thumbs down in 5-10 years, the feds agreed to shut everything down with respect to legal weed. Medication---substances than cure and treat illness, will stay with humanity forever. Legal weed has an unlikely future, deal with it.

  • U live in a -blam!-ing fantasy world where everything is perfect, if u believe all the shit u come out with, yes meds do that, and I'm all in for HELPFUL MEDICAL HELP, but more people die of them than the illegal stuff because they are easier to get a hold off

Without medication, we would be in the dark ages. The doctors did the risk benefit analysis (i.e. peer reviewed journals) of what would happen if we were to legalize weed like alcohol and tobacco (millions of dollars lost) and what would happen if we got rid of medication (millions of dead people). You are a ****ing idiot if you can't comprehend that we need medicine, and that there are VERY tight rules that are in the process of trying to prevent prescription drugs getting in the hands of dealers. #legalize weed and start next public health crisis Medicine helps people you retard, the term risk benefit analysis means although there are downs to having prescription meds, society needs them to function. If tobacco were illegal, millions of lives and dollars would be saved. The doctors have made their conclusion, and if you can't understand this, it's great why idiots like you aren't allowed to make decisions on what is legal or not.

The Department of Health and Justice agreed to shut everything down (legal weed) if the doctors and legal teams give it a thumbs down. Tobacco costs the healthcare system millions of dollar,if it were still illegal, or more restricted legalization, millions would be saved. Doctors and scientists are consulted by governments because they are the experts, as well as legal teams. These are people who deal with the negative effects of weed. I don't care you give up, most educated people (government officials, even the legal teams who told the docs to let Colorado go on and see what happens) will respect medical experts opinions. Time to face reality.

  • Which the reality is money. Falsified documents, doctors opinions paid for, all in the name of making money. If you want truth you research it yourself. Facts you acquire from medical journals or articles are just paid advertisements. Welcome to capitalism. Pot heads your not in the clear yourself, you smoke without knowledge of what put into your system. Don't glorify some plant for your desire to get high. Marijuana is just plant, not a life style to live by.
f you want truth you research it yourself. Facts you acquire from medical journals or articles are just paid advertisements. Welcome to capitalism
Another reason why I think you have no clue what you're talking about: one of the biggest articles in medical journals is the CATIE trials, a study which cost (#capitalism) BIg Pharma and the private sector millions of dollars. Another thing, congress and the president are letting the marijuana legalization proceed, the doctors and attorneys are opposed to it. Using your (stupid) conspiracy theory, EVERYONE would be in agreement that weed should be illegal. Also the California docs want it legal, if all the docs were paid by #capitalism, there would be no (big) debate at the AMA annual meeting if weed should be legalized.

#it's illegal for doctors to be bought off >A chairman(!) lost his position solely for the fact that he lied about how much a Big Pharma was paying him >The same people behind the Cutlass and CATIE trials, a study which cost Big Pharma millions of dollars, were the same people who were the first who initially researched the negative effects of pot and mental health >You clearly have no medical training or knowledge, you literally learn it first year med school doctors who are bought off or falsify research lose their jobs, periods

It's illegal to do insider trading but senators and congressmen men do it. You obviously have no idea about how life should work verses what reality is. Edit: also your opinions are strictly bias so you fail to bring compromise to your points, so I don't feel inclined to value you as a intellectual individual. Your view is no better then your counter parts, and this debate ends here. Until you question those of authority you shall stay closed minded. Good day sir.
Until you question those of authority you shall stay closed minded. Good day sir.
Hint: politicians consult their medical organizations and scientists before they make their decisions. If Big Pharma were behind this, surely, they would have enough influence to prevent their drugs from being made. After they make each new drug, it goes through scientific analysis, I've heard of hundreds of failed drugs. If they can convince governments and doctors to "demonize" weed, they should have enough influence to make "medicine" as much as they want, meaning just patent any chemical and call it prescription drug. This is not the reality, and there are severe controls to make sure no "insider trading goes on". EVERY doctors knows this, and I can easily tell you're some young adult pseudointellectual, who thinks "conspiracies" happen in the scientific world, they don't, any educated professional will tell you this.

These are the views of doctors, I don't think they care what arrogant 17 year olds think. Fortunately governments listen to medical professionals, why the Departments of Justic and Public Health agreed if the docs give a thumbs down 10-15 years, they will shut everything down. I couldn't care any less what you think, fortunately idiots like you don't make it into the medical world, so (from personal experience), when these points are brought out, most doctors agree weed has its dangers, and that the corporate world can't influence doctors decisions. I know a doctor who shot himself because the higher ups found out he was practicing bad medicine (acting as a consultant to many different companies and giving his patients many unnecessary medications) because he knew he would lose his license to practice medicine. Most educated doctors agree on this. Fortunately stoners like you don't make it into the scientific world, so I could give less of a rat's ass what an idiot like you thinks.

Fortunately idiots like you don't make it into the scientific world, so it doen't matter what you think. Research requires the colloboration of 1000s of different researchers; I studied THC on rat models as a med student, I litertally worked with people in Europe. If you're stupid enough that you think one person in a lab can find the answer to a scientific question, good thing people like you with only high school biology aren't allowed to participate in the medical research world. All these professor, scientists and doctors, I don't think they care less what you think; I don't, I'm just a resident, I imagine actually real scientists are stupid to buy into some 18 year olds "it's a conspiracy theory". If you think they're idiots, good think people like you don't have a say.

  • Hahah, aahhhh trolls. Gota love when people talk like they know. Incase you actually believe what you talk, here's a phrase from Socrates: "Once someone told me I was the smartest person in Athens, I disagreed believing I was far from that opinion. I thought on that statement and came to an idea. I know who I am, therefore I am able to see more clearly." I, sir, am stupid. You trying to prove my lack of intellect is moot for I'll be the first to say I'm an idiot. But I know who I am, so I am able to give a more balanced opinion. You making assumptions proves your lack of knowledge, assuming my age, assuming my level of knowledge in the field of medicine and science. I could be a doctor, pharmacist, EMT, CNA, psychologists, psychiatrists and your argument against me would be entirely invalid. Pro tip: a study is lucky if to have 100 people, let alone actual doctors on it.

"a study is lucky if to have 100 people, let alone actual doctors on it." #the 2004 study by Murray et all examined the entire population of South London for 30 years=millions of years. Again, you're clearly not a medical expert. Good thing he didn't have idiots like you judging his work.

" could be a doctor, pharmacist, EMT, CNA, psychologists, psychiatrists and your argument against me would be entirely invalid." Pro tip retard: As a doctor, half of the time we spend is reading medical journals, and going to medical conferences where we are taught what is going on in the medical research world. The journal readings (and going to the conferences) are literally one of the most important things. If as a doctor, you fail to keep up with the medical research through journals and conferences, you can lose your job. Yet another indication you're a liar. Again, I could care any less what you think because, if you were truly a medical "professional", you wouldn't last two minutes.

No, they've been many epidemiological studies, consisting of millions of people. Why Robin Murray, the man behind it was knighted and given every honor. In fact, he's British, but his work on weed, among other things, got him even honors from American Psychiatric Associations. I'm a psychiatrist, I learned this in med school (weed can trigger psychosis), along with other things that went through peer reviewed research. You're not a psychiatrist because, like me, you'd get the memo during residency "if you deny weed can trigger psychosis, you are ignoring the current evidence". You're not a doctor, one of the things you learn when you become a doctor, it's extremely illegal to be influenced by the corporate world. I couldn't care less what you think, because if you said "hurr durr bought out", you would be laughed at. Just go to any hospital and start blurting it out, see what happens. I repeat, I don't care what idiots like you think. Fortunately people like you don't make it into the medical world, so think what you want. #the American Medical Association represents every single doctor, their views are, more or less, every doctors views. One of the things most doctors (not liars like you)learn when you get the stethoscope and white coat, and the piece of paper that makes you "Dr."
