A question for DeeJ. Regarding the VoG. EDIT

So the community, to my knowledge, is not going to be happy with the upcoming update to the Vault of Glass. My question is for the fine people at Bungie, are you folks listening to us at all? I support the 'baby bumper' 1000% and I am sure everyone else does. Even the cheaters. What I can't accept is that you are messing with our strategy to take on the Vault. You guys wanted us to play the game our way but with the upcoming patch, its not our way at all. I am good in and out of the portal and can handle the relic fine. I am speaking for those who can't and are use to their roles. It is going to create mass confusion when people are going to decide what they need to do on the fly. People will start to get angry at each other. Friendships will be broken. For the frail at least. DeeJ can you seriously answer me? Are you guys gonna take our request in to consideration? Or are you going to just brush me under the carpet? ( Meaning no answer at all) An answer is better than nothing bro. Don't forget to like so it can trend. I need supporters if you guys actually want to see if DeeJ responds or not. EDIT: I forgot to mention. Why aren't you guys/gals addressing the issue where Atheon only sends 2 people in instead of three? EDIT: After reading a few comments. I like Shadow Hearth's idea he said: "I'm fine with the update as long a they put the Atheon random porting in the hard mode difficulty only, by then most players should know how to handle each encounter and role. It's called hard mode for a reason, keep normal alone so fresh raiders can still learn the raid." This is an amazing idea. I hope Bungie takes that in to consideration. EDIT: Thanks for all the support! Keep your ideas and opinions coming! I would like to know why DeeJ is not answering. You are under a lot of fire right now. Say something at least. Whatever the case, we will have to deal with this update for now. Which I am fine with. LAST EDIT: Deej responded. Not in this thread. But his own. I will take that as a response though. Deej, if you are reading this, thank you. Seriously, taking this feedback and any other feedback and sitting down with developers expressing how we feel means a lot. Yes i understand that some things cant always go our way. But to hear that you are relaying how we feel and what we want is good enough than ignoring it completely.       • I think its dumb but almost every raid I've done some dude randomly gets teleported some how and is like "what the blam! Do I do" There's other more important things that this game needs beside that.

      • No random. I hold down the gate solo.That is my Titans job. The other side is held down by a Titan and Hunter. When we have an extra Titan, I change to a striker and play body guard/oracle back up. Don't mess with those of us that have taken the time to make our guardians better to support everyone. Rather than running around screaming and moaning when some dies that was trying to do their job but died because no one else did theirs. BTW: I graduated on June 18 with a BA in Video Game Design. I went to school because of Bungie and still love the studio. But you guys really need to pull it together and remember what made you great. Look at how much of the books made it into Halo 3. Look how fans created lore and love of those game. REMEMBER your fans Bungie, not screaming children upset at anything, but the good and the bad criticism that you listened too and helped make great games even greater.

        • been raiding for almost a month now and i don't have anything to show for it the reward system is broken tired of walking people through the raid and watching them get awesome rewards while i get sweet f all just put the raid gear and weapons in the ps store so i can just buy them

        • In my opinion the raid should have been this way in the first place....why would someone not want to know all aspects of, not only destiny, but the raid itself....this will be an amazing update (one i feel is overdue)....just embrace the game you have spent your money on and spent countless hours playing, and will probably continue to play well after this....and if you have a strong clan that is shared by your peers you guys shouldnt be fighting with one another anyways(no matter what)....also, how do you feel you can speak for the entire community? And lastly, ever heard of the old adage: Practice Makes Perfect....my clan is in the same boat as we all had our own roles, ones in which we were very content with, but we have always emphasized on everyone knowing what to do regardless of the situation because we felt it made us stronger as a unit and capable of just about anything destiny/bungie wants to throw at us(we have been doing this well before this news hit of the update coming)...so i say with confidence and enthusiasm: bring it on Atheon and keep up the phenomenal work Bungie With respect and love, A True Guardian

            • Why does anyone want a response from DeeJ at this point? At best he'll tell you that is a problem and we are working on it. At worst he'll hem and haw and make some vague politician like statement. For Example: I'm not hear to make promises but we are listening. I'd rather DeeJ told everyone to -blam!- off than this hot air he has been spewing lately.

              • yeah man i doubt very highly deej will reply ......most dont have time OR there "above" us so they wont unless its absolutely dire neccessary and thats because the "dev" pushed them to do it........so far from what i read im not liking the "dev" deej the stuff ive read he has been rude like a post he made one time where he told a forum user to "grow up" when to me even if true from a business stand point is highly uncalled for and unprofessional .....then how he ignores alot of issues in the forums with the "no reply" which this is whole reason forums is made is for help and responses and interactions. IDK .....Destiny is a fantastic game and it has the capability to be a Hugh franchise just like halo but as of now it needs a few tweeks mainly because this is a MMO based game and it needs to reflect that style of gaming more. All these nerfs and kids crying over "op" weapons just because they cant use them and learn how to shoot for HS all time well thats a personal gaming habit that needs to change and if you wanted to easy MMO maybe you shoulda stuck to WoW or minecraft or LoL with all the other lil kids

              • This is a FPS Raid unlike most mmo raids where everyone will have assign duties determined by their class. All classes are roughly the same minus 1 ability and grenade type so doing the raid before the random teleportation was to easy even on hard mode. with the random teleportation it brings in a strategy that EVERYONE in your group has to know not just 1 side which in all sense is how raids are even in other mmo's. It doesn't matter If I am a dps class or tank class I have to know all phases of the raid to be able to do it effectively and efficiently. The problem people are having with this is they think THEY have to do this certain role while its not that hard at all they just don't understand the role. Me and my froup we switch up the roles each time we go into the raid so that way we can understand all aspects. I for one thought They were going to add the random teleport WAY earlier than over 1 month out. I believe the bug was intended to get people who are not use to raiding the concept of raiding and by adding the variation now says they think that the tutorial of the raid is over,

              • Just fix: Loot drops/duplicates etc. lag/glitch/bugs in general THEN think about changing the experience for the better.

              • Too many people crying over this its not even a big deal the raid is easy enough its good that they are making it more random. Even hard was getting too easy everyone had the same exact strategy to do the raid and that was the only viable way. (Not saying every single fireteam did it the exact same but most do). When everyone is doing something the same way its not even fun you have to change it up some. And those who say "I havn't even done the raid I cant find a group why are they making it harder?" Well stop crying and go online there are plenty of forums and sites dedicated in finding groups it takes less than a few minutes and youll be in a fireteam. And if for some reason its hard than obviously you are too low of a lvl.

                • I don't see the problem with the random selection of 3 players needing to do the portal thing and relic, if you're going to raid you should know the tactics (it's not like the whole VoG is so hard to understand or know what to do ...).

                    Let's be honest, as long Bungie maintains the statement that raids are not for everyone they will do anything to slow down the process. They have released the numbers for how many players completed the raid and it seems they think that too many players have finished the VOG and reaped the rewards because it's too easy. That is a problem for them because they need to keep us in game until the next DLC comes out which will be out in more than 2 months from now on. That's why there will be no improvements to benefit the players and just haste to make changes that slows down the completion at least until the next DLC comes out. Chances are VOG might be improved based on the players feedback but only after the new raid comes out. There is a fine line between company policy and customer satisfaction, I understand the dilemma there is no new content until the new DLC but that's a miscalculation on their part so the community should not have to pay for it. As for Bungie, please stop looking at the raid only through hardcore gamers eyes which might be finished or well on their way gearing up but not the casuals and don't forget that the casuals are the community majority. Unless you want them all out, now would be the time to actually listen to the community feedback, most importantly say what you do and do what you say.

It's called hard mode for a reason, keep normal alone so fresh raiders can still learn the raid."[/quote] This would imply Bungie has enough competence to perform a task like splitting two pieces of content, what in their history, or in the lifetime of Destiny has implied anyone in Bungie has this much capability? they couldn't separate PVE and PVP fixes, they couldn't fix the myriad of bugs that still persist, hell, they couldn't even provide a complete product at launch, to expect them to have any form of ingenuity, credibility, or skill is giving them more credit than they are worth, given their current behavior.

                        • Bungie blabs about how they want us all to work together to master the strike, we respond by putting together our Relic Team and Portal Team. Bungie then nerfs our teamwork by making the Relic Team random? WTF weren't the different classes created to make the Guardians better at one thing or another? Titans take more damage so they are better on the Relic Team, Bungie you are screwing up your whole game concept with too much tinkering.

                          • the amount of crying over having to go into the portal is INSANE. The jobs in the portal are as simple as.....lob a greande at enemies below you/shoot oracles....or grab shield and pound enemies below you and cleanse friendlies. Why is that so hard?

                            • I think that hard mode is a good idea, but honestly I think that random teleporting in normal should be okay and hard should be above that. I (and two others) entered the VoG for the first time last night (seriously the first thing I did in the Templar battle was step off the edge...) and got the universal remote, aetheons auto rifle and a legendary chest piece. Didn't know any of the fights but the guy who led us explained it well, we wiped probably 5 times per encounter and finished in maybe 90 minutes. I went from spinning around thinking 'wait, what's an oracle, why are they telling me to use the relic, use it how?' To actually contributing. Could we have done it that well without someone who had done it before? No of course not, but with half of us with no experience and level 27 I'd say if anything that it was too easy (or perhaps with no people with experience which is who it would be geared towards just right), hard mode to me should be hard. For example in addition to the relic holder cleansing/damaging things it could stack a debuff that increases damage taken by 1%,2%, 3% per second meaning you have to drop it and switch holders, or maybe a stacking DoT. This to me would stop one person being the 'relic' holder and ensure that all people would eventually be able to fulfill most roles. I understand why people are annoyed, that they had learnt roles and things that had worked for their fireteam etc. that it helped hide inexperienced members by loading the responsibility more on other members, but is that really best? Yes people will die more, yes people will have to learn new roles and might get teleported into the portals and have to figure out who is grabbing the relic/killing oracles. But that's what the RAID is for! It was supposed to require coordination, team work, changing strategies on the fly, working together and altering things if someone got an unlucky strike and dies. Relic holder died, just going to wipe or can someone else pick up the relic for the 30seconds it'll take to get him back? If this means you go from a 1 hour clear back to a 2 hour clear (or 3 or 4) until all your members are better skilled them to me that's better, it's not a loot pinata that you hit until your exotic falls out, it's the end game content that is supposed to be the culmination of your skills not 'Hey, can you run me through VoG?' If it were too easy then we'd just see 'OMG Bungie this is too easy, now everyone is getting raid items, can't believe you nerfed this!' Final thought: I wish that it were harder (and more so than 'Lol that blast just does 3x the damage as usual, one shot, learn to dodge better') and there were more mechanics to master needed for each boss (also the gorgon maze was two corridors...the hardest part for me was going down that dark tunnel with all the drops, I couldn't see crap without throwing grenades with my brightness up :P)
