The traveler brought the Darkness to the universe. The speaker, his Dinklebots, and the guardians are there to protect the darkness.
The Dark Garden is inside the traveler, the traveler creates the Vex, the Hive worship it and fragments of it are found in their shrines, and the Fallen are terrified of the Traveller and by extension of that the Guardians.
Ever heard the dregs shout "It's the darkness!!" In a garbled alien/english when you approach?

I agree that ive been called the darkness by a dreg. But when i was Master Chief i was also called a demon. So that i take with a grain of salt. I do think that we are not being told the whole truth because its contradictory to what were "standing for". Go out and attack for "defensive purposes". In war some lines are blurred while others become resolute when you see the whole picture.

I've believed this for a while now. Have you seen the concept art of inside the Traveler. Looks suspiciously like the Black Garden. Now the question is, why was the Black Heart inside of the Traveler and will destroying it bring?

You all assume we destroyed it in end game. I've played games all my life. I'll eat my fukkin shoe if the "Black Heart of Darkness" was actually destroyed.

I've heard the servitors ask if its safe when peeking out from behind things.
