Exotic Armor isn't so exotic anymore...
Am I the only one who feels all the Guardians seems to have an exotic? What is the point of exotic pieces if everyone seems to have the same piece depending on what Xur sells?
If I remember correctly Bungie boasted the armory size of Destiny's weapon and armor... "You won't see two guardian who look alike"
I see clones of myself everywhere!

The issue is the number of players. They'd have to have thousands of armor pieces to make it seem the way it's listed. But look at the level system. The only way to 30 is with the raid set. Eventually all of the veteran gamers will be wearing identical gear, minus their one exotic favorite and shader preference. As it stands even the vanguard and faction armor's all look the same minus a cable here, a slightly different pocket there... City of Heroes had an awesome character editor, but characters didn't wear lootable equipment. I've recommended that they implement a feature in a game called Terraria. There's a "cosmetic" slot next to each armor slot. This allows you to equip your best gear for stats, but "show" whatever you want. I'd very much like something like this. Anyone else?

4 RepliesThe issue I think you're having is that you don't really understand what the word "Exotic" means. By definition, Exotic =/= Rare/Rarity. Exotic is something new, experimental, or strange. Something outside of the normal. Example: To someone from deep in Siberia, Russia; someone who has never left that area, a person from Spain would seem extremely exotic. Far different from anything he would normally see in his habitat, and definitely different to anything he's ever known. But that does not make Spanish people rare. The Exotic weapons and armor in Destiny are the highest tier equipment in the game. True. But trying to say that their tier should limit their availability is also to say that some people do not deserve to advance to the highest levels of power. Don't be hipster-esque with the items in the game. Everyone, by design, is meant to hit the highest levels of power eventually. Whether you get lucky and get an Exotic from RNGesus (you don't earn shit in a game that utilizes an RNG) through sheer luck, or you buy it from a vendor that looks like Cthulu and Sutekh had a love-child; having an item at the "Exotic" tier does not automatically mean that it should be only for the "l33t pl@yuRzzz!!!!". Get over your sense of entitlement and just enjoy the game.

Dude, exotics are now pretty much as rare as raid gear.
