  • And I know that feeling XD I spend WAY too much time making weird noises rather than playing songs!

  • The trick is figuring out how to incorporate said noises into songs in a musical way. A good friend of mine works at a pedal company called Earthquaker Devices out of Akron, OH (about twenty minutes from me). They're starting to get national recognition by sponsoring Juan Alderete (The Mars Volta, Racer X) and Nick Reinhart and Nathan Latona of Tera Melos. They make some of the coolest pedals I've ever heard. The pink one on my board called the Rainbow Machine is one of theirs. I encourage you to check them out and watch demos of some of their pedals on YouTube http://earthquakerdevices.com/ My favorites are the Rainbow Machine, Dispatch Master, Bit Commander, and Afterneath.

  • Ah so you're familiar. And yes, The Depths. I was fortunate enough to borrow that one from the friend I mentioned. He can get their pedals for me reasonably cheap because he works there (though I've only gotten the one so far because I'm broke). I've met his boss a couple times... the guy that actually designs the pedals. For being the mastermind behind some of the coolest pedals out there, I expected him to be much older. He's only in his early forties.

  • Yeah I just put about $400 into the Pedaltrain, a power supply, and patch cables so I could actually run sixteen at once x.x

Yeah, I'm pretty partial to my Carbon Copy, though. It's really simple and adds some roominess to my sound without using heavy reverb.
