*edit* deej of you read this please Watch the second video I posted.* This, and it's associated second part are excellent analysis of quest design. I feel like Bungie really could have pushed some environmental quests more, have us discover little pockets of surviving humanity and such. Deej if you could give your input both to us and the design team that'd be great. This would provide some much needed freshness to the game!

  • That is a good concept and I'm getting the idea we may not see this over night, but it could be implemented into Patrol in a further expansion or update. Side Quest should be side [i]Stories[/i] that complement the overall lore of the game's story. Thus far Patrol succeeds in this, but the diversity is mostly brought by the Public events which are at time hard to find. I find that exploration is fun in this game and has great amazing detail to the living environments. But a good concept to implement would be for example Portal 2's use of visual story hints like graffiti on the walls and maybe journal logs or crime scene investigations that have some small story tid bits. Thus leading to my idea that maybe random public events or specific patrols that lead to sides story missions should be provided or expanded upon. Like for example, complete a specific type of public even or patrol provides a clue that would lead to a story mission that only can be unlock through exploration and timing with a specific mission. Sort of like the Exotic bounties but this time with actual cinematic or log entries you find and learn things. This would lead to a new story mission that when played gives some story lore no matter how simple changes our perspective of the world of Destiny. I hope this makes sense, lol. What really needs to be done is a expansion of the [u]current [/u] games Patrol mission mode, not a complete throw away and start over, that would be ridiculous for the game is really fun.
