Anyone got any tips for how to get better loot?
When I first got this game, I had an absolute blast playing it, both single player missions and in The Crucible. However, I've been gradually doing worse and worse in matches as the time goes on. While this is largely due to my lack of skill taking hold of me, I like to tell myself that it's more due to the fact that my gear just don't cut it no more! I play a couple hours each day, do the daily strike and some crucible matches and after doing this for about two weeks, I've gotten a grand total of THREE legendary engrams, one of which turned into a blue, one of which turned into a pair of snazzy boots for a different class, and one of which turned into a kickass sniper rifle which I really lack the skill to properly use.
I spent some time farming (and I truly felt guilty for it!) and got nothing but blues. I've handed in enough blues to achieve Cryptarch rank 6 or 7 (I don't remember the exact rank) and I've never experienced what must be the truly orgasmic sensation of getting a legendary out of them. My question to you, Forum Goers, is do you know of any ways that I can get some better gear? Some way to increase my chances of RNGesus favoring me without having to sacrifice my first-born to Bungie?

Equiping a legendary class item can improve drops. This is not confirmed but it worked for me and my mates.

I spent a few hrs at the cave, no purples. Decided to rank up through the vanguard. A very slow, slow process. But I got there, hit rank 2 and bought my first Legen armor. Purples seemed to start dropping thereafter. Bought my first exotic from Xur, titan chest piece, felt earned and looked good. This put me over 26 and I was able to raid. Now though I need a gun, this week ill finally have enough vanguard marks to buy shadow price. 150 aint cheap. Long story short, pick a faction, work up through their ranks. Don't try to level them all at once, youll never get good gear.

If you go to where the speaker is in the tower, just before you go up the stairs to him, you see that big machine that looks as if it is scanning the traveller. Well if you look down below it you can jump there. Stand directly below the image of the traveler whilst looking up at the actual traveller. From here you need to enact the sit animation and pray for good loot and hope that the traveler heeds your prayers. Aside from that, its all down to unluck. I have been gifted with raid armour, my friend has not. He has been gifted with raid weapons, I have not. It does get upsetting.

Bring up you faction ranks and save your marks. You need rank 2 with any faction to buy armor. Rank 3 to buy weapons.

Just keep playing crucible. You don't have to do anything for loot.

2 RepliesKeep playing eventually you will get the good gear. There is nothing you can do to increase the drop rate or drop quality. Pick a faction and buy the good stuff is the only guaranteed way to get legendary gear.
