Iron Banner level advantage discussion
So according to the info put out by Bungie, the level advantage only pertains to the amount of Defense and the amount of weapon damage. So not necessarily what lvl you are like we all thought but since the higher lvl you are correlates to the amount of Defense you have it kinda is what we thought. Granted a lvl 29 with 1400 Def and a lvl 30 with 1420 will be very equal. And not the previously thought 30%+ extra damage or higher brought on by being a lvl higher like it is in pve.
Tell me if you agree, thoughts, or if I read the info wrong.

We have been saying this since the beta. All the pve virgins thought they could just wreck house in iron banner because of their gear and now they're butthurt that it's not the case.

I suck in the crucible. I mean i never got above a 1.0 before, but my first iron banner match my titan destroyed pretty much everyone. Fully upgraded suros sure dominates. Its like shooting level 4 dregs lol.

2 RepliesGear and weapons do make a difference. However, it's not the end all, be all. You still have to play smart and aim straight. People think just because they're level 29 they can cut players down like it's level 2 Dregs in Old Russia. It doesn't make you invincible. Most of the people complaining stink at Crucible and thought a level advantage would put them in "God Mode".

I haven't noticed a difference. Still getting 3 shotted by lvl 24s with Shingen-e. Iron banner is total false advertising. Also, control only? Come on bungie get your shit together. The same bounties for a month straight too? It would be so easy to add some variety to this game.

5 RepliesSomewhat related question: Does the gun mod, "high caliber rounds" have effect in Iron Banner? Meaning, This mod "reals" enemies in pvp (causes them to flinch). Does this work in Iron Banner too?

I honestly didn't notice that much of a difference. I'm lvl 28 Titan and my maxed suros wipes through everything. Then the stinkbug hit

What i have experienced is, that the Iron Banner is the biggest crap in gaming History. I am in an gunfight with a lv27 or lv26 or lv28 hunter, we both have the Suros and i lose always the Fight. The same is against the Warlock or a Titan. But the Titan i could unterstand. My Suros is maxed out and i am lv29 with 1410 defense when i remind me right. In my opinion Defense and Attack don't matters really. Only your connection with the Servers or the Player. So I really don't understand what i should Do or try to get a kill. On a normal gunfight. I meet ppl what i can't kill, with the Suros or Shotgun or Handcannon. Only If they don't See me and i Hit the first 2bullets. Even then i had situations where i die and not the lower lv guy

I just got unwilling soul which is max rof. Noticed I do better with it than my rare shingen. Other than that I noticed shotguns arent as good and FR are so much better in IB

1 ReplyI was wrecking shop in the iron banner, but I did noticed that I was getting owned by more rare weapons like the shingen and the galahad than legendary or exotic weapons. I'm a level 29 btw.

Or as long as we are on the subject, lets talk about balance.........Wait WTF am I talking about there is no balance. Shotgun to face over and over for insta kills is such a great game play mechanic that every game should do it. I mean hear me out and don't get this in the wrong way. There should be in every game some breaking mechanics to the meta, it keeps people coming back to beat that A-Hole that killed ya. But at the expense of sounding like a raging f-tard here, can we just have some change up to the one shot wonders we see now please! I think that the PVP system is not a bad thing in this game and the scaling while not great is not totally bad. I do however think that it could be enhanced by the fact that the current abilities that are on equipment should come into play rather than just pure raw stats. It would make different combos and increase the intensity of the matches.

Iron banner is a joke. The real difference is when players of the same level face each other. Everything else is barely affected because there are damage caps and scaling damage reduction to nullify any advantage your 300 attack weapon has....

The levels higher then 20 are not actual levels. We are all 20, only advantage a level 30 is going to have is armor (maybe slightly more stats).

3 RepliesThere is level advantage...if someone is level 29 and you are 28 he will have better gear and thus more armor and will have an advantage. You only gain level with better gear...so higher level players will always have better gear than you
