This game costs about as much as it does to go out for one night

And almost every single one of you are complaining so bad like they robbed you millions of dollars. If you have played this game more than 2 days total play time....you have more than got your money's worth. If you had fun with this game for two weeks, you once again got your money's worth. If you go to the bar, or the movies, or on a date you will spend more than 60 dollars unless you are the cheapest person on the planet. Please stop complaining, you all are ridiculous. EDIT: I really didn't think this thread would take off like this. Thank you for all that contributed and I do hope you all have a great day. Destiny filled or not. Peace and love friends. EDIT: I had to turn off sound notifications on my phone holy crap people haha. I'm done in this thread, adios. EDIT: Final edit, if you do feel this game wasn't worth your money than simply stop playing. It's a simple solution. If you feel like you were lied to or you feel unfufilled then I am sorry, but just don't play and you can fill the empty void with something positive you enjoy.

      • $60 is absolutely reasonable, even in the midwest US, for a somewhat fancy night out. Movies for 2 at non-matinee prices is minimum $10 per person, so there's 1/3 of your budget right there. Dinner at a middle-road sit-down restaurant will be somewhere from $20-$30. You might be able to split a domestic beer with the rest of your money when you get to the bar. If you are splitting the cost of the date then you get 2 dates for $60, and I guarantee you spent more time than that on Destiny. Being frugal might get you 3 or 4 dates, but honestly how many hours is that compared to how much time you'll put in Destiny before shelling out for an expansion? I felt the same way with Battlefield 4. Even though it was released with massive issues and a mediocre story, it was still a great game at its core. And they did end up fixing the issues.

Good night out for me is around $18 That said, its not about the cost of the game, its about what was advertised for the price vs what was delivered. I would have waited until DLC dropped and the world had something actually in it if i had know it would be this empty after 3 weeks of play.

If it costs you $60 to go out for a night you're doing something wrong. If it costs you $150 to go out for a night you're doing something very, very wrong.

        • You need to find a new place to haunt man... $60 a night to go out? Where? Cover for a bar is like $5-10. Drinks are like $5-$10. How much are you drinking? I hope you don't drive yourself home... Also cost is relative. I think and ANY game is really worth $60. I can recall games I played a kid for hundreds of hours. I got so much use out of them that they were worth every penny. And they cost less back than. It may be apples and oranges, but I've got thousands of hours logged in old classic games that I bought NEW when they came out for $39.99. Thousands. And they still work to this day. I can pop in a good old Sega Master System and play whatever game I like - or throw a cartridge in my NSES or Genesis. All those games were $39.99 at launch and not only have me hours of fun but can still provide fun now - over a decade later. Hell, they might be fun for my kids some day or my grand kids - we can all get a lough when remembering "what games were like when I was your age". But Destiny... games today in general. You don't get shit for your $60. You get a game that does basically nothing. A 50GB Blu Ray that installs 40GB of content to your Hard Drive. When you want to play - you sign an EULA and log into the game that leases its content to you. You've got to log into the Servers to play a game just in its story mode - which this game doesn't really even have. And you've got to pay for Xbox Love or PS Plus to play the rest of the game's content. So AT MINIMUM this game is $75 to play for one month. and $15 per month thereafter PLUS whatever you buy in DLC. That's pretty shitty. And what do you think will happen in a year - maybe two - when the game isn't profitable anymore and all the players have moved on to the next latest and greatest fad - will Activision or Bungie just keep paying to house the servers. To maintain them and keep them secure. Right - out of the goodness of their cold, black, money-grubbing hearts. Good luck making memories there - good luck showing your kids or your grand kids. I'm not implying that every game has to change the world for me. but I damn well think every game owes me a little something for the money I throw at them. I want the time I spend playing to me fun and meaningful. And to be something I actually own - not something I rent virtual space to interact in. $60 isn't the end of the world, but money is all people understand anymore. You think Bungie cares about you as a person? Your opinions? Grow up. Trying to quiet people on a forum, or telling them that they have no right to complain is downright fascist. These forums are just about the only recourse people actually have to voice their displeasure with Bungie. It's not like we can just call them up and say "hey guys, I think your game stinks but it could have been so much better". The bottom line is that Bungie & Activision already have your money. They got what they want and so they have no incentive to change - as far as they can tell the actions they took up to this point have resulting in X sales and X dollars in profit. They like it. Everyone who plays the game could hate it and they couldn't give to shits less because those same suckers are going to go out pay them money again the next time for whatever they develop and ship out. Part of how a free economy is supposed to work is by reputation. If people are unhappy with a product they should be able to voice that. Sometimes that will be articulated well and presented with patience and helpful feedback - sometimes it's just kids crying and a lot of angst - but it is still feedback that needs to be taken seriously. Destiny already shipped. We already bought it - they already think it's a big hit because they already made tones of money. The only way companies can actually get a clue is if the backlash from the community is harsh enough that the next time they pull this crap - it fails. So please - cry more. Let out some rage. let people know not to buy the game - warn them that it isn't what they expected and that information find its way back to Bungie and Activision. They can either fix this game, or make a better one next time. But they've gotta learn somewhere, and you're attempt to shut people down in these forums is only trapping the developers in their ignorance.

        • I'm with you here! I'm surprised that games don't cost more than 60 dollars at this point honestly. We've been paying that for awhile now and the quality of games has more than doubled.. This is why there is so much dlc now because they just can't make nearly as much by selling a game for the same price as they have been when games cost so much more to make now. I'm glad that games don't cost more than 60 dollars, but I do think that they are worth more than that.

          • Anyone crying about $60 needs to go out and get a job, seriously it's $60. Anyone working a job shouldn't be crying about it and if you are you need to go outside and stop being a little girl about it. Is the game perfect? No. However, whining and crying and talking about how you got robbed doesn't do anything and I doubt the devs even read those posts. If you want to be heard offer constructive criticism. If you're still slitting your wrists over $60, then you should just quit at life; one less of you bottom feeders bringing down the human race would be a step in the right direction.

Pretty much every AAA game developer has done more with less than what Bungie had. Also, I'm sorry, but I measure my "money's worth" in how much the game actually engages me, immerses me, and how much I enjoy it, not just how many minutes I've spent at a menu and stuff. Most of the hours I spent in the game were just grinding for better gear only to find out that there wasn't anything better at the end of the road. Just more (lack of) story and grind grind grind, same missions over and over and over again. I may have sunk many hours in to this but I'm not giving one more minute. Mass Effect, any one of them, has earned the hours I gave it. Destiny has not, and I will not be further supporting this game until it starts delivering quality content rather than corporate money grabbing schemes. Also, who the hell are you to tell me I can't express my opinion? How the -blam!- do you think games get better? They get better because the community tells the devs how to make them better. Just because someone doesn't agree with the game doesn't mean they should just stop playing or forget about it. We're not whining for the sake of whining. We're trying to hold the developers accountable for the mistakes that were made and get a response out of them to make the game better, make it what it was supposed to be in the first place.

I think the vidocs from 2013 and the gameplay debut are so different from what we now have that, this is what dissapoints. Not only that but those of us that love what its potential is and with our suspicions being heightened by this clutter of bad PR, and digging that the Internet is doing. People should be raising questions. There are obviously those who blow it into galactic proportions, but you have a few well thought out seeds here that deserve attention.

                • You logic doesn't make sense. If someone played the first level of Destiny for 2 days that would mean it's classified as a good game and that it's worth $60? The time that 'can' be spent is no basis for a good game. The content that 'is' in the game is what most people judge a good game by. But I'm not trying to start anything and I'm not trying to make anyone mad (if I do I apologize) but c'mon, Bungie said it was one thing and it's not and far from it. It's a mediocre game (IMO, if your opinion is different that's fine I'm just giving my opinion) at best.
