So you think the only people that should get legendary gear are those that pay a third company (Sony or Microsoft) to play online? If you do not have Playstation Plus, strikes and raids are a closed door.

  • U need to pay a third company to play the game. full stop. My brother couldnt play the game at all until he got playstation plus. So i fail to see your argument.

  • I am under the impression that PS3 players only need PS Plus for the online aspects, such as crucible, raids and strikes, story mode can be single player. I've seen it mentioned that this is the case for Xbox users (not sure 360 or One, or both) Also Bungie use the term "PS Plus activities" in their help pages, suggesting that there are activities that are not PS Plus required. Finally, certain activities are clearly marked PS Plus required, while others are not, suggesting that the campaign/story can be played without Live or PS Plus.

I haven't seen it stated clearly anywhere whether you do or don't need it for ps3. Back to your original post, I feel that if heroics and maybe hard mode gave you a 25 or 50% shot at legendary or upgrade materials, then by all means restrict. Restricting to strikes and raid, I feel, would lead to elitism that prevails in nearly all mmo's . This tends to lead to players being rejected because they have some green items still or only blue items.

  • Ok then what if the lower tier the enemy, lower the chance of rare and legendary. While higher tier enemies have a higher chance to drop better loot and less chance of things below rare? This way its possible to get legendary/exotics out of strikes but would be easier to gain them by actually playing the strikes? (If any of that made sense)

  • That is something I think could work. Strikes should have a high chance for legendary, whilst a boss in hard mode or heroic will have a fair chance, I think 20% world be good, though 10% might work. Hard mode seems rather pointless without the chance of ascendant material, and daily heroics need some kind of incentive.

  • Personally i do hard mode for the challenge of testing my skills in a solo run but it would be much more worth it and feel more rewarding if i got loot so i feel this system would be the most beneficial on the PvE side of things
