This game NEEDS a trading system.
People don't understand how much this game would benefit to a trading system... Since the accounts are saved on a CLOUD, that means duping cannot happen.
I have also picked up Legendaries and Exotics for a different class, wishing I could trade them with another player for similar equipment. YOU can earn your gear but it is your choice if you want to give it away, they should make a trading system where both players must accept what they wish to trade and must come to a final conclusion, if one player cancels to try to change anything, it will cancel the whole trade. Not hard.
The Cryptarch is a jerk, why have a chance of getting a Rare out of a Legendary Engram? Where is the "Earning"?
Random drops aren't "earning" since they are RANDOM, I play the game for much longer than my friend and he gets better loot than me...
EDIT: I can only EARN so much a week anyway, so if they limit how much I can EARN, which pretty much stops me from playing because bad drops.

Some games are better off without a trading system. The best part of finishing missions and stuff is getting your own loot and being excited because something is better than what you already have. If there's a trading system, all your gear will be super good and you will never EVER actually use any equipment that you find by yourself. This is exactly why they took the auction house out of Diablo III, And is exactly why Bungie should never put a trading system into this game.

That would literally kill their plan for the game, the progress for "what you want" is each individuals tangible motivations that are probably primarily above the or equal to the intangible goals of what the feel like they have conquered.

6 RepliesI would say no to a trading system but yes to a friends only trading system set out like this, Sending gifts to a friend requires the following things, 1. only 3 items can be sent per 1 gift 2. item can only be Armour or Weapons (NO Engrams) 3. NO experience/skill points can be on the items 5. Lv20 or above 6. NO Exotic Items or Engrams 7. only 1 gift per day to 1 friend Receiving gifts from friends requires the following, 1. Lv20 or above tell me what you think, me and my friends agree that there should be a gifting system to friends only but I added some limitations.

1 ReplyTrading / Auction House is pretty much a staple of MMO's. And Destiny is an MMO, since you can't not play it without internet connection. So, yes, I do think that it would benefit this game for players to sell/trade the gear thet don't need. I mean, I got boots for a hunter, and I play a Titan. I have no plans to make a hunter, so, my only option was to dismantle them. They could put restrictions on what could be sold / traded via auction house. For example you could sell Legendary engrams, but not legendary weapons. That way, someone with a big wallet wouldnt take a chance on shelling out the money to buy something that wont guarantee him/her the item they want.

Maybe is destiny was a MMO a trading system would work but as it stands right now its better off without it. The game already has very little release content and by adding a trading system and taking away grinding and farming the game would have that much less

The reason trading is not allowed is that it would create a "black market" with high level players farming exotics and gifting them to the unworthy. If you're getting gear for a different class, then put it in the vault and create a new character from the other 2 classes.

They always are, and 1 person can screw it up for everyone. This has been going on for hundreds of years now. Humans hold up the high and mighty but completely ignore reality. Make multiple characters is why I think loot is not always class based. I've gotten 2 Legendary boots for Titan, and 2 Warlock Helms, also Legendary, but I play as a Hunter. Suffice to say when my new Warlock and Hunter become level 20, they will become instantly super armored

well i thought of it as well and idk if its possible right now coz destiny got some limits that are kinda silly like max lvl 20 but u can stil lvl up or max cash is 25k so i dont think is a good idea now but in future i hope they are gonna add it. its game that is gonna last 10years after all :D

1 ReplyI don't agree. Even if you couldn't dupe, the value of exotics and legendaries would go down greatly. I like the fact that everything you have is something you've earned. I don't like the idea of someone who just started the game having an exotic because their friend gave it to them. They need to leave trading OUT of the game

Uh, no. This would depreciate the value of exotics and legendary items greatly. Not to mention, there can and will be ways to dupe items. People have already done it. Only thing is, Bungie actually threw down the banhammer. If trading is involved, then it'll be infinitely harder to catch those who cheat. So, no thanks. I'm perfectly fine with no trading.

1 ReplyMy issue is that loot drops are tailored to be rare, this is what you get in a trading economy to prevent market flooding. there's no trading, thus drops are tailored to an individual, it's not fun playing for a week and never seeing anything drop, just look at what Diablo did when they revamped it with their loot 2.0 system, removed trading and made it so that if you played for a few hours, you would find stuff, that's what makes the game fun, addictive. playing for hours to get a legendary engram isn't any fun when that engram is only a 10% chance at an item, and a further 30% chance to get a item you want, losing lottery tickets are not fun to acquire or grind for.

I do not know of a game where you can just sell purple or higher looted items in the Auction House unless its crafted. But that would still exclude all the Exotics from being traded, so now you can trade all your blues, somehow not gonna change a thing

The only thing I think you should be able to give another player is consumables like the ammo packs to members of your fire team during strikes and raids etc.
