Im getting tired of this

The fact there is ZERO customer support for this game is beyond me, Bungie literally ignores all reports of problems and says the same thing "Pardon our dust" for every problem that pops up or they dont acknowledge them at all. I've been attempting to play Destiny the whole week and I've only had one good of playing and that was the day i got the game. Every day after im getting disconnected from XBL and error codes on error codes on error codes, I dont need to go to another Zoo in my life I've seen so many animal names pop up this week. Caterpillar Centipede Anteater Baboon Newt Hawk and im starting to hate coconuts pineapples and apples I've gotten these errors as well. I've followed every step on microsoft and bungies website for networking to the letter portforwarding and even finding my ethernet cable to hardwire my connection. I still get these problems. I cant even play, the game is unplayable, i cant travel and when it does work 1 out of the 10 times i try i can only play for 5 minutes before getting some bs error code and then getting disconnected from xbl. This game causes me to constantly disconnect from parties im in. I've tried everything on my end and no results, when let alone you release a product with many others having the same problem NONE of us should have to touch a thing on our end to play your game we all PAID FOR. And before you all say its my end.. Every moment of every day before I put destiny in my console I've had zero problems.. no lag or dcs... after playing destiny its like it infected my router and i even get lagged out of parties and disconnected when im not even playing destiny. Im at a loss of ideas I've tried everything. this games networking is awful, reminds me of battlefield for the first 3 months. Bungie... please.. FIX YOUR SERVERS. EDIT: got off with microsoft support chat and the person said Microsoft has been hearing all about problems regarding destiny of all types, even peopels connectivity going terrible when not even on destiny since playing it, and during. Also said Microsoft has been giving out refunds to people who purchased it digitally off their marketplace to people who want it if their game isnt working as intended. + What they told me to do hasnt fixed anything.

  • I feel for everyone here. I've had caterpillar pop up every 10-15 minutes whenever I tried doing anything. But today I said F*** it and bought a new router. I've had issues every day since launch and finally!!! It took buying a new router to fix my issue. If anyone is curious, I was using a ubee365 modem/router. I found out today that it didn't support port forwarding. Which I found funny because my xbox never showed it had a strict nat type. So I bridged my new router into my network setup and I haven't gotten disconnected once. Hopefully if you have the same set up I do, yoi read this and this helps. Hoping everyone's god awful caterpillar/hawk/whatever animal Moses decided to save goes away soon.

    • Unfortunately other players bad connections also contribute to the problem. It seems that in larger countries the disconnections happen more frequently too. Im in New Zealand I have put in almost 85 hours but only been disconnected 3 times. I'm not saying bungies server's are perfect but people need to relise that this game requires a higher bandwidth connection than other games.

      • Well I guess its everyone else's turn to have disconection problems. Game ran fine till last weekend. Now this week can't stay on. No error codes just keep losing connection to servers. Tried everything on my end including nothing between modem and ps4 except the line conecting them. Still get the boot about every half hour. Makes alot of stuff impossible to run.

          • Hey man I am just as frustrated with this game as you, I will get random spurts where I stay connected to destiny's server for 2 hours once out of the week (normally i stay logged in for 5 minutes). I love the game, I just cant stay logged in. All of these people are saying that it is xbox live. On my xbox one I stay connected to the internet (party chat) and lose connection to destiny servers. So i can still communicate with everyone through party chat and get disconnected from the game. If I play Titanfall on my xbox one I do not lag out unless its once in a blue moon. I dont know if this info helps bungie, but i have also opened all the ports neccessary and am only losing connection to your servers, obviously there could be a problem on my end, but i have tried everything and im not losing connection to the internet ever, just the destiny servers. I currently cannot stay connected to the servers for the time it took me to type this message, and this is online. Please help Thanks, Neil

            • I feel for you. I've been having similar problems. First few days I could play with friends fine, but now the past several days every time I even attempt to play with them I get constantly disconnected and my chat party goes to crap, so I've practically given up playing altogether. I thought it was my internet taking a turn for the worst since I don't exactly have very reliable internet. I've even done speed tests that seem to confirm my internet is crappier than normal, so bad I'm confused as to what's caused the drastic change. But after reading your post I'm starting to believe it's not that. I really hope Bungie does something about this soon, it sucks that I can only play by myself when this is supposed to be a co-op game.

            • Same problem on xbox360. Using hard wire connection. done port forwarding, cleared cache, deleted everything and reinstalled. I do notice it only disconnects (very often) in public areas like the tower and patrol zones (during missions or just patrolling) it seems to get worse every day and just this weekend has started disconnecting from PvP matches. It HAS to be on bungie's end. unless it's Time Warner cable's fault. but i play gta online and tons of other games with no issues.

Not sure how my buddies are gonna feel about constantly getting pulled though.. it would be nice to see a slight fix in the least.

              • I'm getting really sick of these errors as well. I have only managed to log about 9 hours into the game because I have spent another 9 getting kicked out then reconnecting to the game. Doesn't really seem to matter if I am trying to go to Earth, Moon, Venus, Tower or Crucible. I feel lucky some days just getting it to load onto the mission I chose because I know it probably wont stay connected long enough to finish it. I've even changed over to a wired connection from my modem and shit isn't working properly. I think if it isn't fixed soon I may have a very expensive coaster, I didn't even have these issues with Defiance and they were rough around the edges to begin with. And no offense, but we get it, PS doesn't seem to be having these problems, but we are.

                • I have been hearing a lot about others having this problem even a good friend of mine that lives just 30min away from me but I have never had a problem I'm on a ps4 and have a solid broadband and have never had a problem

                  • It sounds like your pretty knowledgeable in this area but I had a similar issue when I started playing GTA online. I can't remember what its called exactly but I essentially "demilitarized " my PlayStation on my router and told my router to give Ethernet port 1 priority over all other connections. I have also noticed that if I me and my fiancé have our phones or laptop connected to WiFi it takes a decent bit longer but oddly if my kids are running the Wii u on WiFi with Netflix or YouTube , there's no noticeable difference... but if you didn't already you might want to look into those things . I went from getting kicked out of every session in GTA to never having another single drop or play lag... I would definitely tell Microsoft to also reimburse you something for their network issues as well. If its not only doing it foe destiny perhaps its something to do with the increase in server use ? Hope you have some luck bud.

                    • I have yet to have a disconnect. Put in about 40 to 50 hours. It might be your ISP. This is the only reason I can think of that would cause some people to have numerous disconnects and others to not.

                      • Getting all of the same problems, haven't been able to enjoy this game at all since downloading it:-/ I've definitely followed every step there is out there for making sure my network's configured correctly, too. AND I'm not behind a g.d. school or business firewall, it's my own network in my own home on my own dime, Bungie. Getting to the point where I'm seriously considering hitting up Microsoft for a refund. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND FIGURE THIS OUT! There are hundreds if not thousands of your customers experiencing this same problem. AARGHHH!

                        Icarus I have to agree with pohzey. I am having the same problems. I have switched to a hard wired connection, updated the firmware on my router, changed to a static IP, and openned all recommended ports. I don't have problems with anything but Destiny. It is very frustrating. Its not impossible, but I seriously doubt that this problem is on my end. Especially when all of my other online games/apps are working just fine. Edit: Oh I forgot to mention earlier that I had none of these problems with the Beta. Edit 2: I got with my ISP and upgraded my modem and my speed from 15mb/s to 30mb/s. I haven't had any problems since.

                          • Sounds more like its xbl problem. I've been playing ony ps4 since Destiny's release and I've had only one minor hiccup. Seeing as xbl is giving refunds, its their end of the table. Not bungies

                          • Hate to say it, but it kinda sounds like it's your end. I don't know what it is specifically, as I don't understand the Bungie error code system, but I haven't had a single problem yet. For that matter, I'm friends with about 20 people from all walks of life, and all kinds of set ups to the internet, who have played Destiny since release, and none of them have had any trouble. I hope your problem gets fixed, but in the meantime you may want to revert your router/modem/etc. to factory default settings. Maybe get ahold of your ISP and see if they could help you out. Sorry your having trouble man. P.S. the most recent Weekly update kinda addresses your issue, they have 'top men' working on it. Specifically, Zach Russell. You don't get to be in that kind of position without knowing what you're doing.

                            • I was having horrible issues when I was connecting wirelessly. To fix it I am using ethernet over power, static public IP (no router so no NAT) with direct modem connection and it runs beautifully. I know its more money per month and you shouldn't have to do it, but have you looked into a static public IP?

                            • Same exact experience. I just got to Venus. Just from replaying the same levels over and over again I'm level 19. Tonight I got kicked out 10 times trying to finish a mission. Couldn't do it.

                                I never had a problem and I'm on the xbox one. I also have twc (time warner cable)
