The only thing that needs to be fixed is the rewards for the crucible. Multiple games every single night that I lead my team in very category and don't get any rewards at all. Then you have games where someone who is in last place with barely any points getting rare as legendary items and engrams. They shouldn't reward players for being terrible or doing nothing every match. The looting system for the vanguard side is fine. Everyone complaining about that needs to relax. I've had plenty of items drop during missions and strikes (even got legendary armor to drop) you just have to play the game. Like the original post said I'm glad it's hard to get these items I just don't want to be punished for doing well in PvP matches.

Don't get me wrong I love the game. It is one the best game I've played in a long time. That is the only real flaw I see and a lot of other people seem to feel the same. I'm sure it will get addressed at some point. Bungie is usually pretty reliable and the fact that new things are coming so fast is a good sign.

Maybe the logic is gear worse players to even the playing field? Just a shot in the dark.

I hope that's not the logic. That's like making sports teams play every player every game to make it fair. How about instead of making exceptions for players that aren't as good and giving them gear, you give them incentive to practice and get better. We shouldn't get punished for putting the time in already or being naturally better at the game.

i didnt get any legendary items from multiplayer till i was the appropriate level the same is true in the PVE until you get 24+ i doubt you will get anything with consistency. but once i hit this level i have noticed i do get legendaries when i come top of my team with KD around 5:1 or better (ofc this doesnt happen every game so im not rolling in legendaries. but have two weapons which is nice) I only seem to get rare loot when i do poorly or nothing at all. (depends on if my team won or which game mode). i think there are some anomalies yes, but there are probably multiple codes running at once eg. the guy who got 1 kill and 20 deaths and is level 24 etc etc, just completed say his hundredth cruicble match. or just leveled up his cruicable rank. etc etc. its not just one code. eg rewards=performance. there are other code running and they are based on the individual not just the one game. but every game hes played to date.

I did notice that once I was a certain lvl (about 18+) that I starting getting more rare drops consistently but I can't say I don't get any before that. I got plenty of rare and uncommon drops they are just leveled cross match your own. In the crucible I've never gotten a legendary item at all, only rare weapons. I've had games where I've been 30, 6, and 5 in control matches with most of the match spent capturing and neutralizing zones (scoring well over 1000 points more than the second place on my team) and got nothing at all. Then games were I don't play great and lose but get a weapon and a legendary engram. That doesn't give me incentive to do anything but get one kill and get killed the rest of the match every game to get better rewards. (Which is totally ass backwards) there's no reason or logic that will justify rewards those who do nothing for their team an not rewards those who do.

It's anyone's guess as to why it is like that, but maybe a more even distribution would be better....(I'm not a fan of participation ribbons in RL) but it seems they are everywhere now... And I'm terrible at pvp on this game and don't play it often just when I'm bored grinding the pve....but I haven't gotten any gift drops either and that's fine by me.

To be honest I think the PvP depends more on gear and time getting used to the style more than anything. And the best I would say about getting drops is kill everything you see. I kill every enemy I see and I get rare drops a lot and got legendary leg armor to drop 1 time. The stronger enemies have a higher drop rate too (in my experience anyway)

I ended up with a helm,2fusion, and a sniper in 2hrs of farming last night...after grinding to vanguard rank 2 all week... Pvp is just for fun for me....i don't take it seriously

That's not too bad considering Destiny is MMO. People on WoW and other games would kill to find that many uncommon and rare items in 2 hours. And the crucible is mostly for gear for me. Best chance of legendary engrams and strange coins/motes of light.

Didn't know that....got most my stuff from leveling the cryptarch since he gifts every level up
