The games almost as short as Far Cry 3, it's like Borderlands but it has no idea what it's doing, and it adds nothing new to the FPS genre. I'd post this in Destiny but I don't want people having panic attacks or going ballistic so I would like to discuss it with you #gaming. Thoughts, opinions, anything?

1 ReplyIt didn't cost 500m, you and 10 million other people still don't understand it lol. The 500m is an investment into the series, not the actual cost of this game... /SMH

Their going to be building on the game for a long time, which is a good thing.
-
$460 million in advertising, $30 million in bribes, $9.9 million on graphics, $100,000 on level design
-
Well they are going to keep making expansion packs for the next ten years

I don't know what to tell you. I mean, avid gamer my whole life and I haven't played anything ever that compares to destiny. I was going to blow through the storyline like so many people have done, but I figures instead of whining about how I spent my money; why not make it worth my while and actually do all these strikes or raids, heck why not actually help people that need the help or want the help? To be perfectly honest, die hard cod fan; I turned my back on cod after my first battle field game, which was bf4; than shortly went right back to cod. And let's be honest fb and cod are really just so basic. It is going to take a lot of effort for games like that to take me away from a game like destiny which is going to continue to grow. So let me ask you, did you buy the expansion pass? Have you ever felt you wasted your money buying a season pass for cod or bf4? I know I have..black ops 1 being the biggest waste ever. But part of being a gamer(not saying everyone's like this) is to enjoy the game to its fullest, and if you really like it; well invest in it. But if you're just going to cry and whine..go get your money back and get the f*** off the forums.

I've stacked over 3K hours between one and two, maxed out most characters and can solo anything on BL2 on UVHM 8 with my toes while playing an intense game of poker with Arial Sharon. The differences here are crystal clear. Tiered equipment, rewards from factions, raiding mechanics and boss mechanics, all of these are not present in BL2. I can kill bosses in seconds with Berserker on BL2 while eating the entirety of their damage. Gear out scales the content to such a degree. This is an MMORPG with aspects present in some of our more predominant games, such as WoW, FFXIV, GW2, but with guns. It's more structured. Also, this is truly a growing game. That is precisely an aspect of the MMORPG world that they've encompassed. You'll probably see more raids, cap increase, tiered gear, and ranked PvP one day. It's not short; people are just playing this game like a typical shooter.

It didn't cost 500 million, so I'm not sure how to respond to anything. Go cry elsewhere if you don't know shit?

It diddnt cost 500million

It didn't cost $500 million try using google. Oh is that hard for you let me help. http://www.engadget.com/2014/08/13/destiny-500-million/ "That number has been widely misinterpreted as a production number for the first game," Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg explained in an interview today at Gamescom. "That number is an all-inclusive number that's several years worth of investment, including marketing and several games, and a lot of up front investment in things like engines and tools that will be able to be used for years to come."

I think most of the work was in networking.

See, you people say the game is too short, but you haven't even done everything there is to do. When you get called on it, you'll act defensive, call names, etc, because you can't back your statement up. Doesn't this forum have mods? We keep seeing the same threads bitching about nothing over and over again. You'd think Destiny forums would want more content that has more to do with the actual game.

3 RepliesEdited by Hippo_Legacy: 9/11/2014 6:27:45 PMWell to start with it didn't cost 500 million, that is simply the amount they are funding the franchise with. That's 4 games over 10 years, so it's 125 million per game if distributed evenly over the 4 games. And a lot of that will be advertising, and expansions. Also I don't know how you can say they don't know what they're doing, this game is borderlands on steroids and crack, except it's better because you can customize your armor as well as upgrade your weapons and armor. Not to mention space turtles.

5 RepliesITS A MMO! Seriously, it's not call of duty. Once you beat the vanilla version they'll ADD stuff to it. Next week raids are being introduced. Play the game.

12 RepliesBecause: 1. Best new IP in gaming for a while. 2. Created the foundation for a 10 year universe. 3. Takes artists time to create the awesomeness that is around every corner. 4. Takes developers time to create the best AI in all of gaming. 5. Game is constantly evolving and being worked on. 6. Made almost all it's money back on day one from great marketing. 7. Best launch for an mmo style game that I can remember. 8. Awesome servers with very little issue. 9. Most fun ever had with a Bungie game 10. I could go on but you get the point Some of these are facts, some opinion but if you or any of the hate crowd can't "get" this game, it's not for you.

Because the content that'll be rolling out over the next ten years isn't made on the fly. They can't show all their cards at the first, they gotta keep people engaged.

Far Cry 3 is long as hell!

Science!

"Short as far cry 3" I stopped here i knew everything else would not matter
