So I was rifling through my limited edition goodies and came across some code. It's not a serial code because it was printed in handwriting, clearly displayed and has an arrow pointing to the first letter any thoughts?
Code:
[b]A
C
D
F
G
H
J
K
L
M
N
P
R
T
V
X
Y
3
4
6
7
9[/b]
[b][u]UPDATE 1[/u] [/b]
Here's the Latin written on the map from left-to-right top-to-bottom:
TYPVS ORBIS TERRARVM
Sturgeon of the world (???)
QVID EI POTEST VIDERI MAGNVM IN REBVS HVMANIS CVI AETER NITAS OMNIS TOTIVS QVE MVNDI NOTA SIT MAGNITVDO
For what human affairs can seem important to a man who keeps all eternity before his eyes and knows the vastness of the universe?
PER AUDACIA AD ASTRA
To boldly go to the stars.

[b][u]UPDATE 2[/u] [/b]
Going from the center out of the solar system chart on the bottom right and placing the characters on the line with an arrow on it I got the code: V7D-FC9-G4C. This code doesn't work, but we're much closer.
[b]Thanks to: KnuckleSandwich, Azian 1nvasion[/b]
[b][u]UPDATE 3[/u] [/b]
Someone try this code please: [b]X7D-FM9-G4C[/b]. I've reached my maximum attempts for today.

8 RepliesEdited by Azian 1nvasion: 9/12/2014 4:08:07 PMKnuckleSandwich was right only he went backwards. On the diagram of the solar system in the bottom right corner there are 9 planets corresponding to the 9 characters in the code and there are 22 ticks around it like a clock corresponding to the 22 charcters on the back. The letter 'A', which has the arrow pointing to it, corresponds to the tick at 3 o'clock which also has the arrow on it. From there you work your way counter-clockwise around the circle (so the next tick is 'C', then 'D', etc). Next you can see Mercury (the innermost planet ) lines up with the tick that corresponds to 'X'. From there all you need to do is follow the lines and work you way out to Pluto, giving you 9 characters. The same cipher is at the end of the Arms and Armament book by the drawing of the Vex Goblin. The rewards for both codes are the emblems: "The Unimagined Plane" and "The Reflective Proof".

1 ReplyTook me a bit, but I figured out the star chart code. You get a pretty sweet emblem. Looks like you were starting with the wrong place to put the "A" in the little solar system diagram at the bottom right. Then once it's all in the correct place, you order them from closest to the sun to farthest from the sun and you get this code: X9F GMA H6D. Enjoy.

Edited by Ohdaviing: 10/13/2014 8:50:45 AMI couldn't find anything for your code but I remember watching a YouTube video about codes here is the link
-
Count the A's in each phrase multiply by 26 and divide by number of characters on back then lay the code out see what that does...
-
We must find the answer!
-
I just looked at the back of the map tonight. It was a lot of fun to solve. I used this thread to check my answers. Did you guys find the codes in the post cards and pictures?

Maybe go alphabetically and numerically (1-10) and write down the missing letters and numbers and see if they mean anything
-
Excellent work guys!
-
I'll probably sound dumb here.. But I couldn't find out how to do it

Edited by Ohdaviing: 10/13/2014 8:49:25 AMI hope my theories were true 😎

Edited by Ohdaviing: 10/13/2014 8:47:02 AMWhen I saw this it blew my mind ; I looked at your code closely and thought it looked like the alphabet and there was missing numbers so I tested it and came up with beioqsuwz 125810 so when I googled it hidden ancestors came up so maybe Anderclan124 was right and the code is a new dlc code for the new dlc called "Hidden Ancestors".

1 ReplyEdited by A Saturnalia: 9/12/2014 3:56:22 PMWould it be possible to upload a high res photo of the back of it? I don't have the map, but I want to help see if there is anything with it. http://alphalupi.bungie.net/ Also wonder if the dots on the front have meaning

The latin txt at the bottom of the destiny map is a piece from Abraham Ortelius's (Ortelius ma)p from the 1564. The translation is a piece from Marcus Tullius *Cicero* Translation: Who can consider human affairs to be great, When he comprehends the eternity and vastness of the entire world? Cicero:1 theres got to be more to this...

Oh my god, someone on this forum still has a brain and problem solving skills? Leave sir, lest the rest of these fools drag you down

2 RepliesHi guys... Here's a little explanation ;) The motto below the map is a quotation from Cicero (Tusculanae Disputatianes IV. 1 7. 37) and it's correctly written like this: [b]Quid ei potest videri magnum in rebus humanis, cui aeternitas omnis, totiusque mundi nota sit magnitudo[/b] The right translation is: [b]For what human affairs can seem important to a man who keeps all eternity before his eyes and knows the vastness of the universe?[/b] You're welcome ;)

1 ReplyBeioqsuwz1258 Are the characters missing. No idea what it would be.

1 ReplyDoes this also work with the planetary map that is located in the Arms and armament book? It seems the planets are at different locations between the two.
