I was at the hospital today...

...for registration for a surgery I'll have on Tuesday. They asked me the normal stuff, if I had had any major disease lately, if I was on any medication etc. Did a couple of blood tests, ECG, blood pressure, all standard procedure stuff. The reason for the surgery is to remove a metal bar from my chest, that was inserted about three and a half years ago. I had this condition called Pectus Excavatum, which is a cave-in in the chest caused by the sternum being behind the ribcage instead of on level with it. So I went through the surgery known as the NUSS procedure, where the metal bar was inserted which caused it to pop out and flatten. It's like bracers for the rib cage. It'll be nice to finally have it removed. It doesn't hurt, but I can feel it pretty much constantly.
The same thread on Sep7agon: http://sep7agon.net/index.php?topic=2387.new#new
• Hospital visits suck, man. I'm glad it's a resolution trip, though, and not to kick the whole thing off. Last time I was in the hospital was about a year-and-a-half ago so my son could get his Laryngomalacia fixed. Best of luck to you, though, and hope they don't leave anything behind!
