I saw that same video on YouTube. Already follow that poster on there. I believe when I was leveling up my crypt that I got 50 for buying his and 100 for ones I found in PvE. Maybe it was 100 and 150 I don't remember but yeah I ended up with a couple blues in each category, special, primary and heavy. That's why I've said to my clan mates that I'm probably going to grind a bit at first to level vanguard and crypt first and some of the other factions as well. Isn't it funny how similar this loot stuff is to borderlands??

  • I didn't really see the similarities with Borderlands loot system. I prefer Destiny's over BL

  • It was minute on BL but you KNEW if you spent enough time killing one guy you'd get the weapon you want. That's probably why I liked it a bit more, though it's not clear how all will work exactly till we really dive into destiny. I may have worded it wrong. I should have said that they are very similar in game style and play. Especially the raids. Had raids on BL that you needed 4 players to really beat those high loot enemies

  • I love the idea that Bungie pays attention to what works well in other games. That hopefully means a well polished game with all of the features found in present day shooters. I hope that also means that Bungie will continue to add tools and features in the DLC. In the past we have seen that if something works well in another game, Bungie can make it even better in one of their games. Too many times have I bought a game (COD, BF4, etc.) that failed to implement basic improvements that other competition in that genre had already implemented. A good example would be to compare Halo to COD or BF4. Halo had a skill based ranking system, limited vehicles, limited power weapons, and teams of 4-6 players for most of their game mode (keeping things skill based, team oriented, and helping to avoid spawn killing). Halo Reach implemented live feeds that showed who of your friends were playing, what game they were in, what the score was, and how much time was left; as well as a queue to join up with your friends when their game was finished. It also had a voting system for the next map. All things that worked really well that for some reason have never made their way into other shooters. The multiplayer tools in Reach, such as the queue, were a huge step in the right direction. I would love to see a hierarchical voice chat system and better object based visual communication tools (building off games like Planetside 2) in games such as BF4. I would love for a team captain in Destiny to be able to call out to a specific player and tell them to move into cover and have the game visually show them what cover the captain is selecting. Or to tell a player to move to a location and keep watch in a specific direction in a cone shaped area (near or far). So on and so forth. I would love to see players on a losing team towards the end of a match be given the chance to vote on if they want to try and make a comeback (or just finish the match). If the majority of the team voted to rally then time would be added to the clock, power weapons would reset (any equiped by players would disappear) and that team would get a short boost to stats (life, damage, etc.) for a very short period of time; while at the same time the winning team would gain additional points for kills. Alternatively, if players chose not to rally, the match would simply end. Another example, if a match ended and the scores were very close, it would give the losing team a chance to jump straight back into a game for a rematch against that same team. Why don't we have games with matches that are best out of 3? Why aren't there any online tournaments with in game rewards? Why don't we have object base games with a more diverse and elaborate set of objectives? Hopefully we will see some of these things in Destiny at some point! I am looking forward to finally playing a game again with a skill based ranking system so that the matches fit your skill level (leading to more challenging, competitive play). Destiny had better have ranked play.

  • Well put. I remember in socom you had that where you could tell the AI to move to a spot and they did. Wasn't activision part of borderlands cause I see the similarities here in this game with enemy scaling and loots. And they put in new items and such when the dlc's came out that improved the game tremendously. And when there was a problem with an over powered element they would patch it to make it more challenging. And yes they have spoken about this being a skill based PvP game rather than a best gear wins. But I like how they implemented the banner PvP cause your stats will matter which encourages more play to upgrade items to compete. I think we all just need to sit back and enjoy. This is a great game maker and a reputable company that will flow and mold and adjust to whats needed as it progresses and evolves. This game is going to be great and an amazing experience I think. Just my opinion.

  • Activision wasn't involved with BL or BL2. If they were I think both games would have been even bigger.
