why did you switch to kickstarter? because no one funded your gofundme? Kickstarter's community which I am quite active in, needs even more proof of concept and fabrication skill to find backers. I was actually trying to help you previously, your word of mouth "I can make this" isn't going to suit you well when it comes to crowd funding.

it was 50k and everyone knew he could make his goal, you on the other hand have not provided any evidence that you'll be able to pull through. And thats why kickstarters fail, they are over ambitious, plainly don't seem attainable, or don't properly sell their viability.

  • Yeah I don't think you need much to have backers for a halo replica firearm.

uh... no you're missing the entire idea. ANYONE can make egg salad. Or a sandwich Kickstarters premise is that you're getting something that you want for a price thats worth the risk of someone untried and not already in market pulling through. OP has literally only supplied talk. Talk is cheap, unless you're doing something as simple as potato salad. which replica firearms are not I backed potatosalad. because it was fun and someone is going to say my name while making potato salad. thats something I'm pretty confident in him having faculties of doing. people don't just throw their money at ideas on kickstarter, they throw their money at attainable rewards and ideas that seem viable.

well hopefully I can shed some light. Essentially crowd funding only works if people are confident in an idea's execution. Not just that they think its a swell idea. People have tried to raise funds for things like private islands, which would be so wonderful to be a part of no? Well when its seen not viable to make that happen, and project leaders don't provide the proper assurance its going to work out, no one is going to want to back. Think of crowd sourcing as your open army of investors, you need a good guarantee you can come through to keep investors happy.
