There will be no matchmaking, there will be no splitscreen, and there will be no proximity chat. You people need to get over it. Thank you Bungie for making a game where dipshit people are easily avoided.

  • Interesting, because on July 29, this was published: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/29/bungie-answers-your-destiny-questions-ign-first Have anything newer that has a definite no?

  • I don't need anything newer, you do. Until they definitively say it will be added into the game, it's not in there. Trying to quote an article that's a couple weeks old (especially this close to release) is hardly an indication they'll add it in.
I can say that the team wanted to err on the side of promoting and fostering positive communications between strangers in the world,
This kind of gives you an inkling that they may change something. At least until they follow it up with...
and knew that friends were going to find simple and effective ways to enable voice chat with friends through the Fireteam audio channel, and platform chat.
Specifically saying fireteam chat and party chat are simple and effective ways to communicate. If anything this quote is actually just being said to let people know they're listening. Not taking what people have to say into account and making changes, but just listening. It's getting to the point where it's pretty foolish to expect a major change like proximity chat to happen when it's this close to release. The game could go gold any day now

    Now, you conveniently skipped:
I don’t have a definitive decision
And
We hear you, though. Please keep sounding off with feedback.
That doesn't sound like a no. It sounds like a maybe, leaning towards no when taking the whole response in context. You are saying it won't be as if it is a fact, so again... Source it. You made the claim, not me. I have no need to back anything up. Ball's still in your court.

  • I think you skipped over my first paragraph. Here's the part you need to see
Until they definitively say it will be added into the game, it's not in there
. Definitively. That's the key word. I don't need to find a source saying they won't add it in. They've previously said it won't be in there. Your logic is saying that they're thinking it over, but leaning towards not adding it in. If you're looking for a source or for them to come out and say it won't be in there, I wouldn't hold your breath. They have said no significant changes will be made. I really don't think they're going to come out and say "no its not in there" because that will turn off people like you who have to hear them say it. There is no need for them to keep repeating things over and over that they've answered, especially if those things could garner negative attention.

  •
I think you skipped over my first paragraph. Here's the part you need to see
Your first paragraph was not relevant. It is conjecture, not fact.
They've previously said it won't be in there.
Again.. Source or it never happened and your claim is false. Such a simple concept that you can't seem to grasp.

  • Well this source isn't confirmation it won't be in there, it's confirmation of what the chat system is, and with an explanation as to why they made it so. Yes I know it's an old article. Finding an article that proves they ARE adding proximity chat is on you. Until they definitively say it is in there, it's not. Pretty simple.

You're seriously using something 7 months older than what I posted to back your so called fact? Like I already said, I'm not the one placing any claim to it being added or otherwise, you are. I already posted something that questions your "it won't," therefore, the burden of proof is still on you and never shifted. Pretty simple.

  • I don't think you understand burden of proof. Proximity chat is not currently and never has been in the game. That's not an opinion or some wild claim, that's a fact. Your source saying they're listening isn't saying it will be in the game. Until they say otherwise, it is a fact that it not in there. It will not be in the game unless otherwise specified. The burden of proof is on you to provide something that indicates it will be in the game. Bungie is listening to feedback is not that. Go ahead and bury your head in the sand if you want, I don't really care. At least try to come up with a better argument than saying "source?" A confirmation that it won't be in the game isn't necessary because they've stated that before. Now they'll have to come back and state that it will be in the game. A confirmation that it will be in the game is what is necessary, not them listening to feedback.

That's OK, I accept that you are unable to back that "there will be no proximity chat " Just means you are incorrectly informing people and that any "facts" you post from here on out need to be taken with a grain of salt. It's not burying anything in the sand, it's more so curiosity as to where you are basing your statement. Since you can't provide that, I'll not waste any more of my time trying to sate that curiosity. Edit: Just to clear one thing up, there is a difference in your context between "is" and "will" "Will" is future looking. "Is" makes it present. I wasn't asking about now, but the future as indicated by "will." So a tip. Next time, check your tenses. Probably will be less frustrating for you in the end.

  • Ok I didn't realize how much of an ass hat you were until right there at the end. I actually thought you were trying to have an intelligent discussion. Seriously, you're arguing over past/present tense? Try acting like this is an internet forum instead of some formal paper that's being graded. How about this: proximity chat is not currently in destiny. Only a -blam!-ing idiot thinks there is a legitimate chance they will add it in. There is no source for that, just common sense. Your little source saying they're listening is pretty much bullshit on their end. Just how they're listening on splitscreen and matchmaking for raids. Yeah they hear what people are saying. They just aren't willing to sacrifice their vision for destiny over a bunch of -blam!- tards who get pissed because they can't walk up to another player and automatically talk to them. The source I gave, while old, is how the chat system was in the beta. They haven't publicly said they've changed it nor have gave any reason to think that it will be different, especially less than a month out from release. Destiny will not have proximity chat. That's common sense
