Why is the Last City even worried?
I mean they have a standing army more than a million strong. Each member of that army can wade into battle outnumbered 100:1 and still win. Not only that but they are IMMORTAL. Killing a guardian only pisses them off.
No worries your city is protected by millions of immortal juggernauts. With magical powers to boot.

5 Replies'Cause YOLO. ...I'm sorry, I could barely even type that without vomiting. Besides, the Last City is only defended by Guardians. Guardians only guard it, they're not the only inhabitants. Now excuse me while I go wash my hands for something I previously typed in this post.

4.6 million immortal soldiers who wield the very essence of light as a devastating weapon. But I get the ominous chill that the Darkness is still a very much real threat in the game. Despite our numbers.

3 RepliesBecause The number of aliens out there probably outnumber Guardians by a margin far, FAR greater than 100:1, and also have more advanced resources (large ships with slipspace technology, for instance). Most of those Guardians are fighting battles, investigating, collecting valuable resources, and assassinating high value targets on a variety of planets, or training on designated crucible zones. The enemy is constantly at the gates. And the people in the city can only die once.

Yeah, how did that work out for the other cities? It's the LAST CITY for a reason, and if they weren't worried there really wouldn't be a story to this game.

3 Repliesan army of a million against 4 armies of several million isn't exactly good odds. And true, guardians can be reconstructed so long as their ghost lives. But what if the ghost is destroyed? There were dead guardians on the moon what were described as having none of their light left, so it is very possible that a highly weakened guardian would be unable to respawn. They have a theoretical immortality, but are not immune to falling in battle for good. Now, of course the fallen and hive will not have anywhere near the forces to take the last city. Perhaps not even if all of the enemies came together could they take it. However, you forget the biggest threat of all; the darkness. It is returning from the edge of the solar system, and, as shown in the past, has the ability to corner the traveler and crush it. The traveler and humanity barely made it alive after their first encounter with the darkness. The guardians exist to fight back this force, everything else is just in the way. If they can't keep the darkness at bay, then it truly will be the end.

At the beginning they say the darkness is returning, not has returned. Also we found out all the hive on Earth were just securing spots for the main invasion. We've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

1 ReplyI think monthly the light should be consumed by darkness kinda like a lunar eclipse. And then waaaaay more bad guys spawn in free roam and the sun looks like the sun from skyrim when u shoot it with auriels bow with blood cursed arrows. And then allowing the last city to be raided and u have to go down and fight off the forces till the darkness fades off the light

Haha not on the same server though. I don't know what the server limits are, but there's more like only 20 or so guardians. Kinda? Sorry?

All of those powers came from the Traveler, which used the last of its juice to rez the City's Guardians and give them what was left of that power. If we don't wake the Traveler back up, the Darkness will come back and brick all of our consoles.

Cause the citizens know only 3 guardians can team up and hit the enemy hiding spots. If you try to out a 4th guy in their it opens a paradox portal. Our minds will be blown.

Probably because the darkness commited a mass genocide on our asses tens of thousands of times worse than the holocaust we were reduced from a solar system to 1 city

2 RepliesActually you're wrong. If a guardians ghost is destroyed, the guardian won't last long. Pure numbers go a long way and the darkness is a force to be reckoned with.
